This is quite possibly my favorite Amazon purchase and dress purchase of all-time! And I'm in my 40s. I agonized over which size to buy and got it just right, so let me give you a few pointers: This dress is flattering, forgiving, and stretchy, so I'd suggest sizing down. I'm 5'2" and 140 lbs; a size 10-12 in pants, a petite medium (sometimes a regular small) in shirts, and often a 10 or Medium in dresses. My bust is a D cup. After studying the other reviews, I ordered the size 8 and it couldn't be more perfect. It just barely touches the ground, so it's short-girl friendly (with my 1-inch heels it won't touch at all). The fabric is so soft and the dress itself looks expensive. The detailing above the waist is as flattering as it looks on the model and hides my belly beautifully while still giving me shape. I hate formal dresses and I dislike dressing up in general, but putting this on brought tears to my eyes because I felt gorgeous. Nothing short of a little online-shopping miracle lol. Treat yourself! Note: Other reviewers mention built-in bra padding in the chest. My dress does not have that. WOW!!! This gown is totally unexpected! I am 5’2 and 138 lbs on a good day😃 The recommended size was size 12 but I ordered size 10 because I read that it is stretchy. And I am so glad I did because it is perfect! I am beyond happy because it fits good, comfortable (hides my little pooch) and it makes me look good❤️ The gown has a built in bra which I thought could go down a size a bit and also be a little thinner on the padding, but no big deal. The cloth is shimmery, soft and flowy. It moves with you. It is simple and elegant and I can’t wait to wear it on a gala night. One con though is I will need it hemmed because it is quite long for my 5’2 frame. I wish it comes in petite sizes or length. Anyway, I love, love, love this gown❤️ ... show more

This dress is gorgeous and fit nicely EXCEPT as to length! It was way too long. So disappointed as I loved the dress. I’m 5’6” and have long legs but this was made for a taller person who wears high heels.

My daughter wore this for her Junior prom. It fit great was flowy but not clingy. it was long which was great because she is taller than average and it is sometimes hard to get a good length dress that works for her with heels. She wore it with no issues and we machine washed it on delicate and hung dry looks perfect! My daughter isn't a girly girl so the high neckline and back were perfect. Many she tried on were lower cut or didn't hang right on her, she preferred the higher next - one less thing to worry about. ... show more

Really happy with this dress!!! I’m 5’9, 145 lbs, and this dress fits PERFECTLY. At 5’9, I’m always concerned about things being too short, but it is long enough. I also don’t have a very well-defined waist, and the cinching in the waist looks great on me. Additionally, it has a padded bra built into it, so you don’t have to worry about wearing a strapless bra with it. However, it fit pretty comfortably with my B cup bust, so it might start to get a little snug if you’re more than a C or D cup. Although, the dress does have some stretch to it, so maybe it would be fine. This is exactly what I needed for my friend’s formal wedding. I ordered size 8, and the dark red color. It’s beautiful, with just the right amount of sparkle. Very elegant and classic-looking, and also stretchy and comfortable. Couldn’t be happier I chose this one! ... show more
