This tool kit is inexpensive, reasonably comprehensive and well-thought-out, and contains pretty much everything I needed to open most of the watches that my family owns. It paid for itself the first time I used it, to remove the back cover from a Seiko 5 series watch and tighten the screw holding down the rotor. 5 minutes later my watch was up and running, and now I'm on a campaign to re-battery all of our watches. Highly recommended. My only complaint is that I'm now old enough that this made me go find a magnifier to work with since my near vision has started to deteriorate. However, this kit did not give me presbyopia, that's just the ravages of time.

I love watches and have quite a few of them. Having batteries replaced and installing and resizing watch bands can get expensive if I have a jeweler do it so I have been doing it myself with whatever gadget/tools I had around the house. Now I have everything I need in this cool kit!! There is not much to changing batteries and installing/resizing bands using this kit. The only challenging thing for battery replacement is "snapping" the round back cover on again. There is no tool for that here. However, I have a useful hack that will definetely work. I lay the watch face down on a folded kitchen towel. Note that there is a notch on the back cover where is lays over the crown. Make sure that it is aligned correctly over the crown before attempting to close the lid again. I then place a coin on top of the back cover (use whatever size coin is closest to the circumference of the back cover). The reason for the coin is that it distributes even pressure on the back lid when I attempt to reclose it. I use a rolling pin to press down and put pressure on the coin which in turn snaps the cover right back on. It works perfectly! Just make sure that the watch face is protected and cushioned so you don't end up cracking the glass. Have fun!

this is a great little kit if you want to change batteries or need to repair the bands as it comes with a lot of pins for the bands -- the only thing i wish is it had a press for the backs as some can be very hard to get back on with just your hands

This is a very cost effective kit for replacing batteries and making minor repairs to your watch. After watching some videos on watch repair, I selected this kit to allow me to replace batteries in my watches. It has all the tools I needed except for the press which puts the compression backs of the watch back on. But most kits like this do not (which is ok because you can use a C-clamp to do this). The tools seem to be of good quality and include a quantity of repair pieces. This kit has one of the best prices at the time and I'm pleased with the purchase.

Everything in this set is rudimentary and cheaply made out of pot metal and plastic, however if you are just starting out with your first few Chinese or low-cost watches, this may be enough get you started. At least you can adjust the straps and bracelets - BUT BEWARE! - use with EXTREME care or you will break, bend or slip and you can scratch your new watchbands. Though this IS probably the best way to start out. It will teach you to be very careful when doing just about anything. If you do purchase a $750 Seiko and want to do some light work, get better tools!!!! Especially if you are going to attempt to remove any components, or carefully lubricate the jewels. If you are going to try to just learn to adjust your bracelet, this is probably the way to go. But it isn't even worth passing down. It's probably best to keep it around for emergencies because if you are ever going to try to learn how to clean and maintain real mechanical watches, this will only prove barely adequate at best, and even possibly end up damaging something. I must say this once again - This is Barely Adequate for any part of doing any watch work that involves opening the case! If you move up into higher quality stuff, it's probably best to just throw this away instead of allowing someone else to find it and try to use something out of this kit and and up damaging something. Everything bends very easily, the spare parts included are all the wrong ones unless you are very lucky. No bracelet screws or split pins are provided, only the spring types, and there are about 100 of them, and they are incredibly cheap! You will end up scratching something with these tools. Just warning you~!

this worked exactly the way I envisioned. I bought this for future repairs, but only needed to replace a pin holding my band to the watch itself. Downside was finding the exact size pin I needed, as there are several sizes and they are different by 1mm.
