Nice heat shrink kit with the adhesive. I solder and heat shrink with this whenever possible and no more failed connections even on boat trailer where the connections get submerged. Good value and assortment of sizes. Also shrinks more than others so if joining wires of different sizes it still works. I have shrunk this with heat gun or a torch. Not fragile either. I use these on wire connections on my elcamino. They work great, they shrink nice and tight, and the heat activated glue inside really makes sure your connection stays together.

Finally used these to cover solder joints on a wiring harness for a car stereo and on some low amperage battery test leads. Good for that kind of stuff. Seems decent. Not as much adhesive as the stuff I get from the electrical supply house, but adhesive is present. Test a piece and you can squeeze clear adhesive out of it. However, when heating it, it seems to have a relatively low combustion temperature. Using a soft flame from a lighter to heat it, the ends ignite quicker than expected. Not ideal if there's a possibility of a short that causes high heat and I would recommend using a heat gun to shrink it. Recently, I had to trace a short in the steering column of a Dodge truck that melted a wire all the way down the wiring harness. In a case like that, this material might have caught fire. On the other hand, the material seems pretty resilient in use. I abused a test piece with some with pliers and it's pretty tough. I wouldn't use these for any applications that entail liability, are mission critical, or could carry appreciable amperage. Still, I threw a bunch of them in the tool bag. I would rate them as decent for general home gamer use, but don't expect it to punch above its weight as a value item. It's like crimp connectors: there is a difference between the generic and the better-made stuff. This is really good for low amperage use and reinforcing insulation at potential rub points. ... show more

There are several sized included in the box. The smaller diameters make up the majority of sleeves. All of the sleeves are cut to the same length, approximately 2". I found this was not always long enough, especially in the larger diameter sizes. That is my only issue with this purchase. The product is good. the tube walls are sufficiently heavy and the glue inside melts evenly upon heating. If 2" lengths are good for you, this is a great deal. ... show more

I bought these along with some other items to modify some LED "neon" christmas decorations which had an in-line built in switch that required me to turn them on every time my timer switched on all my outdoor lights. Needless to say, I wasn't going to run around the outside of my house each evening once the timer activated, so I used this heatshrink tubing, a bridge rectifier, and solder and was able to cut out the electronic switch included on the light sets, solder in the rectifier, re-attach the plug end of the cord, and now my lights come on automatically with my timer. This heatshrink tubing is awesome--it does actually shrink down to 3x its diameter, and the glue melts easily and holds firm once dry. I do not regret this purchase one bit. I've been using these for a bunch of wiring I've been doing lately. They have been working great. The adhesive softens properly every time and it oozes out of the ends, showing a good seal. Ive used the 2:1 and wasnt sure what the 3:1 actually was. The glue on the inside is that missing 1 and these are awsome. I threw away alot of the 2:1 heatshrinks i had because you cant beat the strength and quality and the looks of these 3:1 heatshrinks. If your new to these trust me these are the one you want to buy and they are a great price and value. ... show more

I wasn't expecting the box to be bursting with so many pieces, but it was and joyously so! I tried a few out on some test wire to see how much they shrink (closer to 1/2 original size, but 1/3 original might also be realistic- I didn't measure), and was thrilled with the result.
