I am really happy with this desk. I have an ultra wide monitor that I switch between my personal pc and work laptop and everything was super cramped on my old desk. Now there is plenty of table top space for all my needs. The worktop is particle board with a textured black ‘carbon fiber’ veneer. The worktop does come in 2 parts so there is a visible seam where they meet. It doesn’t really bother me, but if it would bother you the desk comes with a huge ‘gaming desk’ branded mouse/desk pad which would cover that seam. Since I’m using a keyboard tray I didn’t end up using the giant pad. Also I don’t like the branding anyway. I added on the eureka cpu holder and the tilting keyboard tray from Stand Steady. Eureka also makes a tilting keyboard but it has obvious branding which is why I ordered from stand steady (since theirs is just plain black). These two add ons work together to make the desk super functional and ergonomic. I think the lowest desk height would be too tall for a short person to comfortably type while sitting with out the under desk tray. With the desk tray it is perfect. I also added an underdesk headphone holder with usb plugs. As some other reviewers stated the desk does wobble a little bit at the highest setting, but I am short anyways so I really only had it at max height temporarily to test it out. At my typical standing and sitting height it is solid. I did order casters to replace the stock feet but I didn’t realize that there are 5 feet and I only ordered 4 casters, so I have to wait for another caster to arrive then I will swap them out. I put 4 stars under assembly because while the manufacturer has done a good job with providing instructions/parts/etc the process is moderately difficult. There are some heavy parts that need to be handled and the desk itself is quite heavy, making the task a two person job. The manufacturer provides a simple screwdriver and Allen key but we just used our own tools (ratcheting screwdriver, powered drill) to make the job easier. I would not recommend anyone try and build this desk alone, and I think this would be a tough build for anyone who can’t lift 50 lbs or with limited experience assembling furniture. The only functional thing that is missing is a built in power strip. I ended up taping a power strip to the leg of the desk and then plugging the desk into the power strip and the power strip into the wall and couldn’t help thinking that a built in power strip would have been more convenient, since the desk has to be plugged in anyways. ... show more

I'm rarely one to write reviews, but had to say, after more than a month of using this desk, I'm highly impressed. Assembly time was a bit long but not too difficult to do by myself though honestly, I recommend getting a second person to help you - the pieces are heavy. On the plus side, everything is super sturdy, the dual motors work beautifully and quietly even, and while I do use the large desk mousepad, the carbon fiber surface is suitable enough to use your mouse on it as well. Two downsides that I immediately see with this product is that the table top comes in two pieces to accommodate for the elongated side. Thankfully, everything was well-aligned and you can cover up the split with the included desk mousepad. The other, slightly more annoying issue is that the surface seems to scratch pretty easily. I found a sizeable gash on the surface after opening my box, but I needed a table right away for work and didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning such a heavy package, so I buffed it out for the most part. In any case, the gash was again covered by the desktop mat. Still, when you open yours up, check to see if the table was scratched on delivery. At least Amazon's return/exchange process isn't too horrendous if you have Prime. All in all, compared to some of the more expensive motorized tables, this is a very good, value-friendly alternative. First of all, I purchased this as a relatively inexpensive L shaped convertible work desk. I was a bit concerned because at the time of purchase there wasn't really an extensive review done on it; but took a chance as work had recently provided a budget. What I liked: It was really well packaged. Solid styrofoam surrounded the pieces and parts inside a pretty good box. You sometimes get a relative mess when ordering heavy units from Amazon but this held up well. The hardware typically had an extra screw or so of each type. In addition, it came with a phillips screw driver and both sized allen wrenches required for construction. I used my dewalt drill instead which works great with the machine screws but I used a relatively low torque setting of four on the wood screws. The instructions were pretty solid. The only part that sometimes made you squint was the layout of the frame shifts a bit if you have a left or right side L. The frame seems very well put together. What I don't care for. The desktop itself is not a one piece unit. It is made up of two pieces held together by the frame and three pieces of metal. On the factory picture the seam is covered by the really large mousepad graphic (that I'm not using). While the desktop is predrilled it is held onto the frame by only some short, very agressive screws. While I constructed this in the home office I frankly was pretty worried about them stripping loose if I ever had to move it to a new room within the house. This maybe totally unfounded but the frame is pretty heavy. Summary: Overall, this does exactly what I want. I purchased a convertible L shaped desk that I can use in th ehome office. Pictured is an accessory 54" clamp on shelf that frankly works really well providing a bit more storage in keeping the desk clean. The electronic height adjust works well and is quiet and smooth. Pretty happy with the purchase. Only improvement keeping this from five stars are my perhaps unfounded fears of the screws holding the desktop onto the frame as well as the fact that the desktop is a two piece, not one piece. ... show more
