These are really nice plastic manila-type folders. But make no mistake, they are NOT manila folders! They are for home or personal use only. The translucent plastic is not appropriate for business files that would need the security of opaque cardboard. However, they're excellent for home use! They're very durable and the plastic prevents the dog-ears and bending that comes with traditional cardboard-style manila folders. They came with labels that you can write on, but I just used my label maker. I had a little trouble getting the labels to stick, but I'm not sure if that was my labels or the folders. I found these folders to be convenient and durable. They slip alongside other folders or papers very easily. Your papers are protected from casual water (wet hands, slight splashes). I could partly read the top paper that was enclosed, so be aware of that if you have security needs.

These folders look pretty and are durable light plastic. The only downfall is that labels don't stick to the tabs and that's a pretty important piece of what I need them for and the reason I only gave 3 stars.

I wanted some folders that weren't just cardboard, to use when I'm carrying file back and forth from my office in my messanger bag. I'll often reuse the folders for deferent sets of papers, and the standard manilla folders fall apart after a while. With these, I don't have that worry. They're thin but durable. They have a sheen, but not so much that they're slippery. The edges aren't sharp (no paper cuts while handling). All in all, these are just what I was looking for. You can't really mark on them too well so you'll need to use labels (enough for two per envelope are provided), but that's fine with me. I just use masking tape and a thin marker. Nothing else really to say. If you need a durable reusable folder that doesn't clasp in any way, this is a good choice. ... show more

These plastic folders are so much better than manila folders - first, they are durable (i.e. not likely to tear or crease compared to paper) while still being lightweight. Second, they are just as flexible as paper folders, so you can carry and store them the same way. This, they don't have sharp edges like paper folders and so are not as likely to slice your finger open. ... show more
