It is definitely lightweight (though I know that will change slightly as I file my documents) and portable and easy to carry. Because it expands backwards instead of the standard V-shape, it won’t take up much room on any surface because when you lie it down, the bulk of it will be reaching up not out. The colors are nice and easy on the eyes, giving a decorative and fun touch to boring paper storage. It is larger than I thought it would be, and does have tons of space for all my documents, and is a much better and centralized system than my mess of papers in a box method. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to organize and store sand paper so that the right grit is easy to find. I have other EOOUT products so when I saw this Expanding File Folder I thought this might be perfect for my need. The file is exactly as described and what I was expecting. It does have 13 slots and it does expand. The cover material is thick and flexible. I was able to write directly on the tabs and will use the label stickers when and if I change grits in any given slot. The accordion type design works ok when the slots are filling up with paper. I do wish the elastic closure latch was adjustable. While it looks like the silver part on the elastic can slide, it doesn’t, so you can only use two lengths. It turns out I have too much sandpaper for the shorter setting but not enough for the longest setting. That’s not a big deal for me because I’m just setting this on a shelf, but if I was trying to carry it from office to home, etc., then it could be an issue. ... show more

I wanted this file to organize the recipes I print from the internet. I have lots of them, and this file allows me to sort them into a variety of categories. I have used similar files in the past, but I have never found one with so many pockets. My only complaint with this one is that it’s a bit too wobbly to be free standing, but it is great in a drawer which is where I have it. This organizer is lightweight, it may not last forever but is is compact and light for convenience. I like that it expands for the entire width (not like fan) so you can get maximum use out of it. I used it for sorting out my sandpaper by grit and could have used a couple more slots, I think 16 would have been perfect. The label stickers worked good and didn't peel off. So, this will hold a lot of stuff. I almost wish it had an elastic or something to go around it because it's not super sturdy.
