Purchased this desk for my teen son. It took about 30 minutes to put it together. No surprises, just straight forward if you follow instructions and match the letters that are on every piece. Even the bag of screws has letters to show you what to use. Hex tool included and that's all you need. I used a wrench to tighten the few nuts that need to be installed. The desk is good quality and sturdy. Nice space and good storage shelves which are adjustable. You can make them evenly spaced or if you want to put in a pc tower or larger item on the bottom, you can adjust height. Worth the price for a simple desk. The only thing you need to watch out for (if it matters to you) is that if you follow the instructions without reading through you will be putting together the desk with the shelves on the left side. Go to the back of the book to see instructions for the right side shelve installation. Otherwise you have to almost start over. ... show more

I'm really impressed. For something so inexpensive this desk is perfect for the small space I intended it for. I have my computer on the top along with a container of pens, a calendar, kleenex and coaster for my drink. The shelfs are sturdy enough to hold books and extra writing material. I love the little hooks because that is where I have hung my bag I carry to church with my bible, Sunday school study book, my bible study books and bible dictionary (what I'm trying to say is this bag is heavy). The hook holds it with no problem. I put the desk together by myself and I'm a senior lady. You do have to pay attention to the instructions or you could make a mistake. When I got the package I did discover there were two missing pieces. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent the pieces to me. I was grateful I didn't have to pack everything up and ship it back. I'm pleasantly surprised how nice this desk looks. It's for a guest room so we wanted something small and lightweight. I was afraid it would look too fake, but not bad. I bought some cute baskets for the shelves to store cables, mouse, mousepad, etc. Directions were easy to follow although I didn't realize the steps for putting the shelves on the right were in the back so when I got to a certain step I realized I couldn't continue and had to back step a bit and follow the other steps. I love the color of the desk!!! I thought it would be black but it’s more a dark brown. Also it was a little hard to build but definitely could’ve been worse. The size is also perfect for my room and the desk is pretty sturdy.
