This is a re-imagined version of it created by the same perfumer who worked with Elizabeth on the original White Diamonds. He did Elizabeth AND her fragrance justice! It has a slight hint of the original but it is a "now" fragrance. It is light, floral, fruity and long lasting! I started wearing the original White Diamonds a long time ago. The original is a decadent, passionate, intense, voluptuously floral scent that seems to last forever on the skin -- and a little goes a long way. I am always a bit ambivalent about original White Diamonds, asking myself if it is just a little bit too "old lady" or not. I often assume it won't be well received by others if I wear it in public, so I'll put on a small spritz of it before I go to bed and just enjoy it for myself. The scent is still quite noticeable the next morning and throughout the next day. This updated version of White Diamonds, called "Icon," is recognizable as being from the White Diamonds lineage, but its character is definitely updated and more restrained and less decadent than the original. I have been trying White Diamonds Icon various times in the last week or two, and the thing I most notice about it is that it does not have a lot of staying power the way original White Diamonds does. Icon smells nice when it is sprayed on, but an hour later it is barely detectable -- and 2 hours later, I find no lingering scent at all. I am not a fan of disappearing scents, as it seems to kind of defeat the entire purpose of a perfume: I put on a perfume so it will smell nice, not so it will disappear. The scent of the Icon version is like "White Diamonds Light." The almost fecund floral quality of original White Diamonds has been removed from Icon. The "old lady" quality is gone. It still clearly carries the main olfactory idea of White Diamonds, but the over-the-top "classic Hollywood" excess is gone. It is a nice scent, and a "safer" choice for wearing out in public than original White Diamonds -- it is not going to overpower or offend anybody. But you had better take the bottle along with you on public jaunts, because you're going to need to reapply it every hour or 2 if you want the scent to linger on your skin. Otherwise, it will just disappear. Bottom line, if the scent had lasted, I would have given it 5 stars, as the scent is pleasant and is a lightened and refreshed version of original White Diamonds, but I took 1 star off since the scent disappears too quickly.

I really love how this smells . For me it is a bit of a fruity smell (pear, strawberry) blended with a hint of florals. What florals I'm not sure but for me it comes off as both fruity and floral. I normally do not like floral perfumes but the floral notes were nice and soft. It isn't an over the top floral smell. Instead it is a youthful fresh fruity and floral smell. I hope that makes sense. For me this fragrance smells both fresh, fun, and sophisticated or dignified. It smells expensive without smelling stuck up. I really think Elizabeth would have been proud of this fragrance. The sillage with this perfume when first sprayed is also very good. After the dry down I can still smell all the notes which is great because I can't say that with a lot of fragrances. Even after an hour I can smell all the notes which makes this one pretty special. Like most perfumes these days expect to respray after a few hours if you want more than just a skin scent. But I would also caution on not over spraying initially which is what I do with some fragrances as a way of smelling good all day long on one spray. This one is strong and I think that strategy may result in it being to over powering for the first few hours. Just plan on spraying and reapplying after four hours. For a night out you won't have to do that. I'm just talking if you are wanting it to last you all day long. Bottle: The bottle looks great. Simple and fancy all at the same time. Has a nice decorative vibe that will make your countertop look better but not make other things look out of place. The atomizer works great as well and give a nice even spray. Value: On the day of my order this was priced at $27.98 for the 1.7 oz bottle. This is a great value for such a quality great smelling perfume. This smells way more expensive than the price in my opinion. This is one of the better deals you will find in the perfume business. Really great value.

I'm not great at describing fragrances. I searched up notes for this before I ordered it just to see if the scent might be something that I'd like and I got SO MANY results that told me the scent was polarizing. It seems that this scent is often thought of as either an older woman's smell or classic and standing the test of time...almost no in between. Let me say that I think I'm on the 'classic' side of the fence here. As someone who loves fragrances but is relatively picky and oftentimes even finds scents I like to become too much after a while...this is just a generally lovely fragrance. With a light hand (obviously, any perfume can be overpowering if you apply too much), this is a lovely fragrance that I'm happy to wear. The scent lasts me all day and is something that I'm happily wearing this as an everyday scent and I wouldn't feel compelled to wear anything different for a special event. The packaging is stunning and would make a great gift for the fragrance lovers in your life and overall, for as luxurious as it smells, it is a very good price for so much product. The frosted glass bottle (cylindrical and about 7.5 inches tall) is beautiful with a faux diamond ring around the cap, so for those that also like to display perfume, you can't go wrong with this one. So, to summarize, great for everyday use, check, lasts without needing reapplication, check, beautiful packaging, check, check, check. Would absolutely order this again.
