Description
This book describes in detail the workings of several common models of electric golf carts. It contains over 100 pictures and illustrations to supports its descriptions. Golf Carts, much like automobiles, have evolved through the years with changes in technology to the point where in order to troubleshoot a problem with one, it is suggested by the manufacturer that you use “special” equipment. The special equipment is usually some kind of a handheld “reader” that can communicate with the Golf Cart’s computer and find out about what is ailing the system. In many cases, the manufacturer won’t even make the “reader” available to the public, thereby forcing the owner of the cart to deal with an authorized dealer (that’s just not fair). The older carts didn’t require all of that “fancy” stuff to troubleshoot them, and almost anyone with a good meter, some electronics training, and some common sense could go a long way toward resolving problems. This book is written by an electronics technician who was kind of thrown into the ring with Golf Carts and learned many “tricks” and techniques to make troubleshooting the older carts easier and more understandable. He also found that there is a lot that can be done with the newer carts without the “readers” and specialized equipment if some of the old techniques are still used and expanded on a bit. It describes technically, the details of several common models of carts that are still kicking around out there. The book also relates some entertaining stories about “what could possibly go wrong” with Golf Carts. Read more
