The bolts were too short to fit through the frame, the cover, the plate & the washer into the mount. They were still too short to fit when I removed the washer. I wound up going to Ace Hardware & spending around $17 to get the longer, anti-theft versions of the bolts, $6 for the keys to said bolts & another $16 or so, to get a ratcheting driver for the keys (like a screwdriver your mount the key into, to make it turnable). The bolts came with nuts, so I imagine this is meant to be placed on a much thinner, hanging plate mount...? I don't see any "drains" in the plate frame, so I imagine I'll wind up with rust issues, as water builds up (I live in Oregon where it rains every 5 minutes). To add to this, the frame doesn't lay flush against the mount (despite putting all 4 screws in loosely & tightening them alternatingly, every other one at a time). I only had trouble getting one screw/screw cap cover on, wedged the frame a bit with a screwdriver & it popped right into place. Bolt/screw difficulties aside, the frame looks nice & the cover is clear. & I love that it doesn't cover any parts of my plate, that should be visible/readable- this is the only reason I gave 2 stars. Being as I have permanent, Disabled Veteran plates, that don't require tags, I suppose it wasn't too bad that I wound up getting anti-theft screws... But I imagine the majority of the consumers buying this product won't have the same consideration. If you're going to advertise that your product comes with the bolts it needs to be installed, you should make sure they serve the intended purpose. ... show more

Love this plate cover. My front license plate has been stolen recently and I had a cover on those so when I bought new plates, I bought a new set of covers too. I like this one because it doesn't block the face of the plates. I'm from Oregon so our tags are on the lower part of the plates. I bought another brand at first but it was covering the lower half of the tags. This one doesn't. A tip on installing, if you want to use the caps to hide the screws, make sure when you screw in your plates, leave enough room between the clear plastic cover and that part where you snap the cap. Since the plastic cover is not flat, if you screw in the plastic part that holds the cap too near the edge, you won't be able to secure the cap properly. I didn't use all the screws to put it on my car because I use stainless steel self tapping screws, we live too near the ocean so I need screws that won't corrode but I used 4 of them on the lower part of the plates. Worked well enough. The plate covers here in Amazon are pricier than Walmart but at least this one comes with a cover compared to the other ones at a higher price. My tags are safe from thieves. I forgot to take a picture before I trashed them. They didn’t last 6 months in the Texas sun before cracking to pieces after turning a DARK amber/yellow. I didn’t pay much attention since they were installed so I hadn’t noticed how bad they’d gotten. A trooper let me “lovingly “ know I could get a ticket but didn’t give me one because I promised to get them off my vehicle when I got home. I am disabled and noticed them during a stressful move. Was just looking for a previous order, saw this and thought I’d post a review. Don’t buy these unless you want to replace them every six months or chance a ticket. Wish I would’ve taken a picture. I am in the process of adding small modifications to my Toyota Prius. This was a nice addition. The clear plastic cover and black license plate rim fit perfectly. I also didn't have to go to the local hardware store for new screws because it was included with this item. Sadly, I did have to remove the black rim because I had to install a backup camera and the rim was extending too to allow proper camera motion. Even without the rim, the clear plastic fits perfectly around my license plate, making it easy to clean when needed. ... show more

The kit I received was warped. Took 3 people to hold it together to get it on truck. After all that hassle it had water in it after first rain. The nuts & bolts it comes with aren't long enough so plan a trip to the hardware store.

Cover is all right, no complaints with it. Screws, on the other hand, are made of cheap aluminum. Each one stripped when I tried to use them. If you just need covers, buy these. If you need covers and screws, maybe not.
