  • Great game for young minds!
This game is awesome! My son loves it, and even when he's not playing the game with us, he plays with the little squirrel and his acorns. It's educational for his age, and teaches him how to play games while having rules that are easy to follow. The pieces are all high quality, and the squirrel teaches kids hand coordinate skills. My son loves having the squirrel pick up his acorns with the pincher. ... show more

  • Fun game
My students really like this game! They knew very little about squirrels, so we did a unit on squirrels. The students like to use the squirrel whose paws form tongs to pick up the acorns. It is good for building fine motor skills. They want to play it repeatedly. The box has an unusual shape, which doesn’t stack very well amongst other boxes, but that’s a minor issue. This edition came with a board book which is nice, but not needed to play the game. The kids liked the book, but like the game better than the book. ... show more

  • Adorable set and the book helps reinforce the concepts - watch the small acorns
This is a surprisingly well made game and book. Lift the flap "story" is very simple, but I introduced my 2.5 year old to the book first and then we tried the game and it helped a lot with the concept. Even if your little doesn't know numbers yet, you can play the game with colors. One caveat: These are very tasty-looking little acorns. We only let our guy play with the game supervised as he has already tried to munch on a few. ... show more

  • A fun and easy game to play!
We really like this game as it’s very easy to learn for a 3-4 year olds. I also like the ability for them to practice fine motor skills with the picking up of the acorns with the squirrel “tweezers”. One of their favorite features is when the spinner lands on the squirrel that steals an acorn from another player. Lol. ... show more

  • Awesome game for SLPs and educators to use!
I am a SLP in an elementary school and both I and the kids I work with love this game! Sometimes I use the regular rules of using it just as a reinforcer/reward towards the end of a session and sometimes I pair a TPT resource with it so that they have to answer questions, describe, or do something that targets their goals. ... show more

  • This is such a sweet little set
This is such a sweet little set! I bought it as a Chanukah gift for my 2.5 year old, who is able to play most of the Peaceable Kingdom games that are ages 3 and up. I kind of wish I had actually waited until he is 3, as this can sometimes be a little long for him and he is still working on the Squirrel Squeezers, but he does often ask to play this regardless. The acorns are pretty small (definitely a choking hazard if you have younger children), but because you play the game with the acorns in the box, I have not been too concerned about losing them. The Squirrel Squeezers are great fine motor practice for both my children and really help to build hand strength. I was so excited about being able to give the book and game to my toddler as a set. It's a sweet flap book and he loves helping the squirrel find the acorns. I think he loves having both a game and a book about the sneaky snacky squirrel -- the book makes the character come to life for him. This is really high quality and I'm particularly glad that it gives children some fine motor practice, but I think my kids still prefer some of the cooperative games from Peaceable Kingdom (which are also a little bit shorter to play!). ... show more
