ORIGINAL REVIEW: June 30, 2019: 4/5 stars For background information, I am a professor and a tech geek. I recently purchased the Echo Show 5 and the stand. I have spent the past few days interacting with the Echo Show 5 and using the Echo Show 5 stand. - The Box (package): The Echo Show 5 stand and a set-up guide. The item arrived sealed and packaged well. - Availability: Black or White Summary: The raised notch on the top of the stand fits into the cutout notch on the bottom of the Show. The stand is around 1.5 cm tall. - Review: The stand: --- Is made out of good quality material --- Is pretty sturdy --- Moves forward and backward (good mobility for different angles). --- Holds the weight of the Echo Show 5 well (generally speaking). --- Has a medium strength magnet. --- Has non-slip material in the bottom (grey region in picture) --- Permits the Echo Show 5 to sit well on it without movement (unless moved) --- Does not add substantially to the weight of the device --- Is easy to install and remove Limitations: --- The height is not adjustable --- The stand cannot be rotated or titled to the sides. --- The height cannot be increased. --- $19.99 + tax is a pretty high price for just a stand --- The magnet is of medium strength (not high strength). This means the device can be knocked of the stand with a good push. I would have personally expected a stronger magnetic connection Bottom line: This stand is a necessary investment to provide a tilt to make sure that you can see the Echo Show device (especially applies when you are standing up). However, I think that the stand is slightly overpriced. I would wait a couple of weeks to find other affordable stands released after the Echo Show 5 goes into circulation and then get them off Amazon.

I have the original Echo Show in the kitchen, and two Echo Spots. when I saw the Show 5, I first questioned what it was worth, but (being a geek both professionally and at heart) I had to try it out. Saw a video saying the sound was poor. I disagree with that one completely. The sound is crisp and clear, with plenty of volume for a small space. If I need something louder, I can always add speakers or pay the extra money for a larger unit. It's perfect for a personal viewer on my deck (yes, I have electricity and WiFi in range) without being drowned out by the neighbor mowing their law or disturbing the neighbor by being too loud. The size many be smaller than either the original or 2, BUT it's larger than the Spot, and fits much better just about anywhere. It's large enough to actually watch a video like I would on my cell phone, and cost a lot less than any cell phone one the market. The only improvement I'd recommend for the cost is giving ME the option of when I want the screen darkened. I'm in the office at 5 in the morning, so I need it to go dark sooner than Amazon decided was normal. In a 24/7 world, there are no NORMAL sleeping hours.

Bought as a present for my wife.... We both love it. Using it in the kitchen and it comes in handy every day. Speaker is more than loud enough to watch a show while washing dishes, and it's cool to look up recipes with the step by step directions. Small size means we can put it almost anywhere without it getting in the way.

This tiny - the Echo Show is small - stand is perfect. It elevates the Show enough that the bottom speakers are accessed. Improved the sound a great deal and made me even happier with my new device.

I've had previous Amazon Echoes and several Dots in same location as new Show 5. Each have heard well but the Show 5 is very poor at it. I do like having a screen but its not worth having to stand over the device and use a loud voice for it to respond.

Worth it but I probably could have 3d printed something for 50 cents if I wasnt giving this as a gift. It looks nice, it adjusts nice, but my wallet hurts for a 20 dollar stand.

This is a nice option for the Show 5 but it's very pricey for what it is - a piece of plastic - while well made and the use of a strong magnet really is a nice feature compared to mechanical, it's about $10 more than I would have liked to pay and to be honest, should be included with the Show 5. A telescoping feature (or other stye stand) would be nice for video conferencing so we don't have to look up people's noses.

I was deciding between this product and the google home. I have the amazon echo and I love the Alexa AI, therefore I decided to try bought this product to see if I’d like this “upgrade” of my echo. First off, I’m not sure if the product was defective but it couldn’t understand half of the things I said to it. I even tested phrases between my echo and the echo show and the echo understood 10X more than the echo show, it was very disappointing. All in all There just doesn’t seem to be enough utility in upgrading to the screen version. Yes, you can ask it to help you cook recipes etc but using those tools gives you a limited selection from the web to choose from. If I could describe this product in one word I’d say restrictive. The only positive to this product is it has a better speaker than my echo in my opinion. Will be returning and trying out the google home.
