This is an excellent 50 amp 220 volt plug. Very easy to install as the pins can be removed from the plug to attach wires and then reinserted into plug body when all attachments are complete (no fighting to get wires to bend to the proper position or trying to tighten partially hidden screws). Two screws hold the plug body together. Also has the mini clamp wire attachments--no wrapping wire around screws. The assembled plug also has plenty of places to get a secure grip. making it easy to plug into and pull out of the socket. I am a landlord and have a good deal of experience installing 220 plugs and sockets...this is the best one I have ever used !! ... show more

This was an excellent price for a nice quality 220vac 50 amp plug. The hinge makes it easy to install. My only complaint would be that the lug/bolt thingy that tightens the wire to the ground spade was bouncing around loose in the package. Stuff like that happens in shipping, but I would be writing a whole different review if it had been missing and I hadn't found it. I can't imagine you can buy those little things separately. If your dishwasher plugs into a 120V outlet, you're going to want this or else you're going to have a bad time getting the DW to sit flush with your counter.

    • Nice Plug
The pieces fit well and it is very solid when fully assembled. I wasn't too keen on the cantilevered design at first, but it worked great and gives me something to grab when unplugging it from my extension cord. The only gripe I had is that the ground pin connection is horizontally oriented, so the ground wire has to make a 90 degree bend after passing between the hot and neutral. The result is that the insulation is resting against the bare metal of either the hot or neutral connector (depending on which way around you go). A plastic guide or for the ground wire would have been nice. ... show more

    • Alright but... I wish ground was better guarded!
Nice plug. Came with 4th pin if needed as well also. I found this plug to be well made and able to take a pretty large smack to the ground not turn into dust. everything seems alright except the ground inside kind makes me a bit worried for the fact it's not very well protected from the two lives. Not much of a guard inside. I mean 50 amps 240 volts.... not going to pop easy if you know what mean. I took a peace of rubber hose over wire insulation when did mine just for peace of mind. always a WTF Moment when don't expect it. all and all seems rugged and well made. I just wish bit more was guarding ground inside. ... show more

Used it to change my plug out on an Miller XMT300 CC/CV with auto link. Blanked off the RED wire and used the Black, White, and Green wires. Always double check your wiring and if you do not know what your doing, then pay someone to do it for you. Seems like a great plug. Heavy duty and the removable prongs make it a breeze to wire it up. ... show more

I've bought two of these - one to install on a welder with a 12AWG power cable, and one with a 6AWG power cable. The plug worked flawlessly for both. The terminals are designed such that they can accept multiple gauges of wire and still snug down tight, and the overall construction of the thing seems sturdy and likely to last a while. Good quality plug. Comes with an extra blade so you can set it up for 30A use. Simple to wire up. Big enough that you can get a grip on it to remove it from the socket.
