Performance comes first. The 2024 Hype Fire features a more finely-tuned composite barrel that creates a wider sweet spot from taper to end cap than its predecessor AND competitors. The overall higher performing barrel maintains a balanced design to produce more bat speed and better barrel control. Paired perfectly with the smooth and forgiving feel of the new OptiFlex Handle, this 1-piece composite model creates easy power.

  • Best light weight USSSA junior bat
Amazing junior Hype Fire bat for skilled 6-7 yr olds! Bought for my son as his first USSSA bat as we're getting started with tournaments and travel in Coach/machine/kid pitch. He has 5 total spring/fall seasons already and plays/practices with his team 3-4 nights a week. I wouldn't buy this bat for a kid who wasn't super into baseball or isn't a skilled hitter. Also it is a composite so you have to realize its more delicate than an old school aluminum bat. If your child is still in the bat throwing/slamming phase it might not be a good purchase either! Weight and balance is ideal for a smaller framed child. 2 3/4" barrel really helps with contact and cutting down on foul balls. Before this we used the Easton Speed Comp -13 which is a USA bat and 2 5/8". That bat was nominally cheaper at $200, this one is well worth the extra $50 for anyone considering them both. Just make sure you're league allows the use of USSSA bats with a 2 3/4 diameter, many don't! We will use this Hype Fire Junior model until my son can step up to the regular model (27" or 28" -10 drop version) Big advantages over the Speed Comp and other bats we've tried: + Larger barrel diameter, still extremely light weight (very hard to find both of these in the same bat) + Much reduced vibration and feedback from bad hits. My son rarely uses batting gloves and doesn't complain about vibration/sting like he has with other bats. + Obvious increase in pop over USA bats + Looks awesome! Negatives/other things to consider: - Other kids on the team will want to use it, keep in mind when you consider durability. - Requires a break in - I did a gradual break in using soft core balls off a tee and ultimately worked up to hitting hard balls off the tee then allowing my son to use it in coach pitch. - In general you don't want to use a composite bat in colder weather, some say below 65 degrees. I keep it inside and won't leave it in a hot car. - Will not last as long as an aluminum bat. Would not plan on using it as a hand me down from siblings. Definitely a good bat for 1-2 seasons which is about how long a typical kid can use before its outgrown anyway. - Designed to be used to hit coach/machine pitch balls under 45MPH (we do kid pitch but at 7 they can't exceed this velocity yet. Our machine pitch velocity is 35MPH) - If your child is able to use a heavier CatX USSSA -10 I'd consider it instead, it will be a better overall bat. ... show more

  • Does not say
Size: 25 Inch
This baseball that does not say or have the stamp of USA baseball on it, so when you take it to tournament games and other sponsored events, you're likely to either get the batter out. 4 have to not use the bat because it's missing the U. S a baseball stamp

This is the drop 12 model and it has very little pop. We went through the break in period, but we have switched back to CatX.
