We needed a radiant heater for the outdoor porch smoking area, but many of them are too tall and require more ceiling clearance than we have. The area is enclosed on 2 sides with an 8' stucco ceiling. This radiant heater is perfect for the area, and it is also highly portable. We have now added a second one to use inside the detached garage. The only negative is the remote control, which very low powered and highly directional. It will not go through a door or window, and really must be used within about 3-4' of the heater itself, pointed directly at the base. It would help if the heater had an auto shutoff after some period of time, although I am sure everyone would want a different time... I was thinking 30 minutes in case I forget to shutoff with the remote. ... show more

We live in an RV and I work out in a tent behind our trailer. I got this heater to not only help the family hang out outside more during the colder months but so I can hopefully workout outside during the colder months. This is a nice outdoor heater. It has instantaneous heat up and almost instantaneous cool down. There is a rocker power switch in back. Be sure to switch on when first using. The remote works well. It has 3 temperatures and up to 24 hours timer. The unit is narrow but so is the base. Make sure you have the heater on a good sturdy flat surface. This heater does have tip over safety off. Power cord is a good length. About 7 feet long. Itโ€™s hard to test longevity right now in the heat of summer into fall, but I think with care, this heater will work perfectly. ... show more

We bought this as a gift for our 70 year old mother to sit on her screened in patio but you have to be sitting in front of it to feel the heat. We really wanted this to work great for her as this is what she loves to do but needed to leave a honest review about how well it works. The remote is nice, the heat if sitting in front of it is nice but heating up the space not so nice. Bummer because this was a Christmas gift for her. Don't purchase this item if you're trying to heat a small space because you will be disappointed that not only did you spend quite a bit of money but you also are not getting the heat output that you desire unless you are going to sit in front of it. ... show more

The heating tube/element was broken right out of the box with no visible shipping damage. Done and done. Update: I changed my review from one to 4 stars based on customer service. They emailed me and stated that they improved their packaging and would like to send me a new heater. They kept their word and the heater arrived undamaged. We got the blue but it looks grayish in actual. It looks nice and puts out good heat. However, one one very windy day, it tipped down and the reflector ring got bent. It was placed on the side of the house, against the wall with full tank of propane. So, I suggest, lay it down during windy days or take it inside the garage. I bought this for my father. He likes to spend his time outside, but due to cold season - this limits his being outside. So I decided to gift him and my mom this. Well, it kind of took a while to assemble everything. My dad was too excited to use it that he thought he can skip instructions and assemble it in a โ€œjiffy.โ€ Anyhow, this product after more than 3 weeks of using is absolutely amazing! It produces strong heat (even in a sim, low mode) and in a wide range too. My father loves this and that says alot! Update from 1 to 5 stars: Customer service contacted me after the below review and sent me a new heater completely free of charge. Wow!! Received Wednesday, used in patio for cooler nights and it worked to warm the area around 2 of the chairs, which is much better than the oscillating one I also purchased. Does turn off when tipped completely over. Remote is the only way to turn it on, so was worried about losing it. I have a grandson who loves remotes. Today, Saturday, my son accidentally knocked it over fairly gently and it broke inside. Now it smokes and will be going in the trash. Waste of money, can't recommend for an outside heater if you have any risk of it knocking or blowing over. I'd return it but I already threw away the 3 (!) Large boxes it came in. ... show more
