  • A great fun product...
Size: Deluxe
I am a senior back yard astronomy dabbler that suffers with mobility issues due to neuropathy. The neuropathy progressed to a point that I was unable to transport my telescope to the yard to do any sky surfing. I saw an add for the Dwarf II on Facebook and I thought it might work in my case. The unit works great and it’s small enough for me to maneuver it to the outside patio table without the help of my sweet wife. The unit is very easy to set up and connect to my android phone or home wifi. Unfortunately cloudy skies have prevented me from taking any astro shots since its arrival but the local squirrel population gives me a lot of Dwarf II app practice. Now I'll be able to do my sky surfing from the comfort of my inside easy chair. ... show more

  • Unleashing the Cosmos with Dwarf II – A Stargazer's Dream Come True!
Size: Deluxe
I recently acquired the Dwarf II telescope with a built-in camera, and I am beyond thrilled with this astronomical marvel. This device has elevated my stargazing experience to new heights, making it my favorite among all the devices I've owned. The ability to track deep sky objects seamlessly sets the Dwarf II apart. Capturing long exposure images and autonomously stacking them results in visuals of celestial wonders. It's like having a personal astrophotographer in the palm of your hands. I've never seen such images of deep sky objects with such ease. What truly sets the Dwarf II apart is its size and mobility. This telescope is incredibly easy to take to different locations, making it perfect for impromptu stargazing sessions or astrophotography adventures. Moreover, its versatility extends beyond the night sky – it excels at daytime viewing as well. The solar filters produce images of the sun, revealing details like sunspots. For wildlife enthusiasts, the Dwarf II opens up a whole new world of exploration. Beyond the incredible features, the customer support for the Dwarf II is unparalleled. I had the privilege of experiencing a level of assistance I've never encountered before. The team scheduled a Zoom call to walk me through the device's functionalities, ensuring I could maximize its potential. They even went above and beyond by scheduling a follow-up Zoom call to ensure everything was working correctly and to check if I was enjoying my stargazing experience. This level of customer support is truly exceptional and sets Dwarf II apart from any other product I've owned. If you're a passionate stargazer or an aspiring astrophotographer, the Dwarf II is a must-have, not just for its incredible features but also for the outstanding customer support that ensures you get the most out of your cosmic journey. Highly recommended! Images on this review: 300-400 images, 15sec exposure, stacked. Post edit on iPhone and Topaz for de-noising, upsizing and sharpening. ... show more

  • Cool gadget, hours of fun
Size: Deluxe
I've had this unit about a month, and living close to Joshua Tree in Southern California, this has become a fun new hobby. It's definitely teaching my dog and myself patience. Good: Once you figure out its quirks, it's pretty easy to use. You'll need to do research to know how and when to adjust exposure time, gain, and IR cut/pass. Bad: App needs improvement in connectivity and general usability. Adding custom DSO doesn't save (that I could figure out), so you can't pre-configure your objects ahead of time. Note on photos: these are not the original stacked photos - they were preprocessed (stacked) in open source Siril, stars adjusted using Starnet, and post processed in Photoshop. ... show more

  • Fantastic piece of equipment
Size: Classic
This smart telescope combines a full expensive astrophotography kit into a small, light weight, budget friendly but capable telescope. The technology in this thing is much to be appreciated. As of day use, you can use the combination of the wide angle lens and telescope lens to look at distant objects like mountains and you can even track birds. As of astrophotography, you can command it to go to a target or even input manual coordinates. It captures deep sky objects even in the city(with enough exposure time and stacking) personally I recommend this telescope for beginners and even amateurs who want a full rig but dont want to break the bank. ... show more

  • Nothing more than a toy for complete amateurs...
Size: Deluxe
• Setup process is okay - requires a smartphone • Smartphone app is very basic - no surprise here • Astrophotographs are nothing like shown in the examples - super grainy and generally not something that you would want to print or even show to others • Use as a terrestrial lens is very poor - the image quality is just so poor like using a camcorder from 20 years ago The package is cute and it seems like it would be a great deal and very easy to travel with. I was skeptical that the tiny lenses and image sensor would be large enough to produce any kind of quality photographs. Indeed, they are way too small and it is basically a very basic camera on a smart base with a mediocre app to run it. The resulting photographs are grainy, low resolution, and look like what you could get with a very, very inexpensive telescope (we are talking very basic here - like maybe one of those toy telescopes you can find for less than sixty bucks). And they really tout how well it works as a telephoto lens for bird photography! Umm...no. Terrestrial photos look like you would expect if you used a camera phone from 10 years ago and digitally zoomed in 20 times. This is one of those things you will use once, put away in a drawer, and forget it even exists. Sorry, I know it sounds harsh. But the manufacturer seems like they are not even trying and just making a product to compete with much more expensive smart telescopes without doing any work or even providing accurate information or sample photos. ... show more
