So I got this to wear for a wedding. The material isn't sheer which is nice. The color (I got burgundy) is true to the picture. I usually wear a 12 in dress and got a XL. The fit is good. Not tight and I am able to move sit and be comfortable. I like how simple the dress is but it moves nicely.

A very pretty dress that can be worn for a semi-formal (cocktail) or formal event. The fabric is stretchy and comfortable and the bottom part and ruffles hang and flow nicely. It washes nice on the delicate cycle (hang to dry) and is wrinkle free. I got a small which is the size I usually wear. The only problem I had was the little flap at the top on the ruffle. This dress is even nicer in person than in any of the pictures. The quality of the fabric is not evident in the listing, but it is a stretchy type of material, 94% nylon, 6% elastane. It makes it fit snuggly and yet comfortably. The picture shows it just as it was taken from the packaging, so there are slight wrinkles. You could steam it to remove them, but most of them came out when I put the dress on. I will say that it fits the waist very snuggly, (I wear an XL) and I needed my husband's assistance to zip up the dress. At the joinder seam between the top and the skirt, there is a thick section that is quite difficult to zip over if you are doing it by yourself. I had to hold the two sides together while my husband did the zipping. I you have a straight up and down shape, I would not recommend this dress. You need to have a more curvy figure with a smaller waist for this to fit properly. But I do really like it and it is perfect for a summer wedding, cocktail party, or evening event. It would also be great for a cruise, especially because it would pack easily. The tag recommends dry cleaning or washing in cold water. I would probably wash it in cold and hang it to dry. Dressystar’s Halter Split Long Formal Dress is absolutely stunning and elegant in every way. It is well-crafted and scrupulously sewn. Not to mention it fits perfectly, apart from the length as I am only 5’2, which is an easy fix. I especially love the flattering ruffled side slit and high neck design as they make this dress look very chic, elegant, and at the same time fun, which makes it perfect to wear as a Cocktail dress or to wear as a formal dress at weddings and other formal occasions. I also really love the Blush color as it is very current and trendy, elegant, and very sophisticated. Apart from the above, I love the thick quality, but breathable fabric used on this dress because this gives out that luxurious feel to the dress and at the same time, it smooths out your silhouette and create that nice, sleek shape for a look that will make you stand out from the crowd. The Dressystar Halter dress is a winner in all categories. The fabric has some weight to it yet the ruffles and the hemline flow as one walks. It was a perfect fit for me. I ordered the XL in the blush color which is really beautiful. I am 5'8" and the hemline hit at the knee in front and at my ankle in the back. The bodice is lined with a soft knit material and there is seaming on both sides of the bust area, defining that area of the dress that leads up to the halter neckline. The zipper in the back of the dress goes from well below the waistline to the neck and is a little tricky at the top. One would probably need help as I did. The fabric has some stretch to it making it a more forgiving choice as well. It really is a great dress for special events with a nice pair of heels. ... show more

I really like this dress. It fits well. The color is amazing. It's well made, the hems are straight and even, and I found no flaws in how it was made. The design is nice. With a hi low feel to it. I'll wear it with a shrug, and it still looked great. The fabric was a lot heavier than I expected. I expected a chiffon type feel, but this was much heavier.
