  • This thing cuts
Pattern Name: Kit
Seriously, this thing cuts, hard. I did an unnecessary amount of research before purchasing this item and am extremely pleased. Dremel is surprisingly enough ahead of the competition (Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, etc) on CORDED oscillating tools in terms of power output and design. Fein tool invented the oscillating saw in 1985, and they held the patent on the technology in until 2009; Dremel started making them in 2009, the competition didn't jump right on it and as such they have much more experience (think design iterations) than others. The tool is well thought out and at this time I have no complaints. I believe the kit, with the blades and such, is an excellent value. Note: I've been using it to remodel in tight quarters, I have no idea what i'd do without this tool (or something similar...) ... show more

  • Skinning a sheep
Pattern Name: Kit
As the saying goes, you can shear a sheep many times but skin them only once. This is skinning a sheep. You can’t find blades anywhere and the ones that you can are 5x the cost of a knock off blade...which you can’t find. The tool is good but useless without blades which mine has been for months. I regret purchasing and would not purchase again. ... show more

  • Not worth it.
Pattern Name: Kit
In theory this is an amazing tool. However I have a few major issues with it. First the cutting head has gone crooked on two of these for me. The first one I returned through amazon. Which was legit. Amazon came through and took care of a problem that Dremel would not when I emailed their customer service. The second one is slightly canted off center but I just use it that way. Second major issue I have is the lack of budget blades available. So far the only blades I have found that work are Dremel brand. Making them very pricey. The last issue I have is that the blade chuck comes loose often. Not a huge deal, but it has to be tightened in between cuts. When you have good blades this thing works amazing. The size and angled head are great. However I can not recommend this tool for the above reasons. ... show more

  • Powerful tool, solidly built but the blades sit crooked to the side
Pattern Name: Kit
The day that I received this tool, I immediately reordered for a replacement because the blade does not sit straight, i.e. perpendicular to the tool (i.e. see photo where I put the blade on a very straight iron bracket.) It is offset just a little bit to the left and there is no way to make it straight, no matter how much the blade is tightened down. The replacement arrived two days later and IT TOO HAS A CROOKED BLADE. So annoying. So what happens is, if you are trying to slice into a piece of drywall and make a perfectly clean, sliced cut by going into the wall with the blade evenly resting against the wall straight across, you actually have to adjust the tool slightly at an angle to make sure it cuts straight and have the blade meet up with the wall all the way across. Not what you want to have to do when trying to make precision cuts. I am not going to bother returning for a third try and it isn't a big enough deal to return for a complete refund, but someone at Dremel needs to be aware of how these are being assembled. Maybe some sort of calibration on the assembly line is slightly off or something, because it seems odd that two tools in a row would have the same defect. **Edit** Someone asked if the blade can be mounted at a 90 degree angle, which it can. I've uploaded a couple photos. ... show more

  • Best oscillating tool. Forget Fein, Milwaukee, DeWalt.
Pattern Name: Kit
Wow what a great tool and great value. I owned the original MM. And I mean the OG MM before they started numbering them. This tool is more powerful, easier to change blades, and has a pretty amazing vibration counterbalance that really works. Anyone saying that this is a hobbyist or maker tool hasn't used it. I'm a professional home rehab artist, and this thing works better than the Milwaukee and DeWalt. It also comes stock with several blades that would otherwise retail for maybe $30-35. The tool less blade change is fairly solid. The angled blade has gotten some criticism from some you tubers, but I don't think they get it. If you're trying to flush cut real tight, it's much better to have that angled blade to help get really low without having your fingers prevent the blade from getting as close to the workpiece as required. The cord would benefit from an extra 2ft of length, but easily fixed with $3 extension from harbor freight. Great oscillating tool that is a better value than everything else on the market. ... show more

  • What a beast!
Pattern Name: Kit
This thing is a monster compared to my old one, barely fits in the old case. Probably almost twice as heavy, too. But that helps damp the vibration. I cut through a 3/8" bolt with a carbide blade. Quick release is cool, came loose once, my fault for not snugging it enough. All the same tools fit. It's awesome to be able to flip the blades around so quick, saves getting down off the ladder to get the wrench. I've only used it two days, but I'm a contractor, it's already done drywall, 2X4s, and metal studs. And that bolt! And all for less than my first Dremel cost. Not bad. ... show more
