Style: 45 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
people who did not read the manual or check the reviews were the ones who had problems with the product. first thing I did was to read the manual and check out the reviews. then I open the box to remove the product and ran the motor on lowest speed for 5 mins.after that I ran it on highest speed for 5 mins.let cool down then went to work with the Dremel.on any motor with bushes, you have to set the bushes first before running the motor. ... show more

  • Extending life of your Dremel
Style: 73 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
My previous Dremel lasted 23 years (only broke BCS I bent the shaft dropping it). While this beautiful kit was hugely expensive for me, if it lasts as long it'll come out to less than $1/month. To add to the life of your Dremel & make project prep easier: * BEFORE USE: run Dremel at high speed for five minutes & flex shaft with tool raised above flex shaft for two minutes. Add a label to your stone collection to remind yourself to run each stone for 1 min. *MAINTENANCE: Blowout with compressed air. Fold a long piece of masking tape in half over the Dremel's cord & mark off each hour of use. When you get to 40-50 it's time to check the brushes. Add another strip of masking tape to the flex shaft to mark off each hour of use. When you get to 35-40 relube with $5 add-on Lucas ball bearing grease. *USING CORRECT SPEED: Go online and print out Dremel's chart showing the speed for each accessory and project material. To make it fit in your case you'll need to trim the paper width before laminating & adding a keychain ring so nothing gets lost. * ORGANIZING ACCESSORIES: If you already have multiuse accessory kits/accumulated loose bits then you might find it easier to store everything in your Dremel case by cutting away excess foam in the back of the bottom drawer to fit in relabeled prescription bottles that gather together like bits. For ex, one labeled "STONES run 1 min before use" followed by the numbers for all accessories in that bottle. Add a masking tape tag to each accessory with it's number. I'm using the accessory organizers that came with the case for collets, tools, brushes, sanders & big wheels. Im only giving 4 stars now because I haven't tried out everything yet. Hope find this helpful! UPDATE: my flex shaft was defective and fell apart the second time I used it, unfortunately, after my one month return window. I called Dremel & they are sending me a replacement free of charge. ... show more

  • Good rotary tool, accessories attach with plastic threads: designed to wear out
Style: 45 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
As a rotary tool it's great, of course--Dremel doesn't make junk. For the accessories, however, it's clearly designed to wear out: ALL of the threads, on the tool and on the accessories, are plastic. Yeah the tool is super nice (and expensive) nylon with 33% glass fill, but still the threads are PLASTIC. Eventually, after enough bumps on metal tables and work, or a ham-fisted tightening, these threads will be toast and I won't be able to put accessories on it anymore. The accessories are an even softer plastic than the tool, which is good that they won't wear the tool threads out, but they are definitely not going to last. I'm kinda bummed that I bought what I thought was a top-quality brand and got made-to-wear-out accessories. All they had to do was spend the money on metal threaded inserts. ... show more

  • Good tool
Style: 45 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
This is the fourth Dremel moto-tool replacement in fifty plus years of hobby tinkering. Dremel's latest model is much larger then the last. The physical size will be an issue for certain uses, mainly the nose and overall diameter of the motor housing. The cord is no longer a self coiling type, which is ok, but the cord is pre-kinked due to cheap wire and how it is packaged at the factory. It will not straighten out. The new speed control is semi-protected thus preventing accidental speed changes (nice improvement) also the speed control is separate from the on-off switch, also an improvement I think. Motor seems to have more torque but this may be because the tool it's replacing is worn out. This kit is packed with useful goodies and some "fluff". The new light system operates on batteries not 110VAC and it can be removed from the chuck area. Overall satisfied with the quality and value, make sure to run the motor for a few minutes without a load, to seat the brushes. ... show more

  • Amazing company!
Style: 45 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
I got my dremel in April 2018. I really messed up I got my waist length hair caught up in it! (Totally my fault) it gave me the worlds longest dread lock in about 2 seconds! After about an hour of untangling my hair from the works I turned on the dremel and of course it was broke. I called the number on the paperwork told them what happened. They told me just to send the unit in and they would fix or replace it! So I did what they said and I got it back really FAST! Plus they included a light attachment (I guess so I can see if my hair is in the way!😄) I am really enjoying my dremel tool now (allways with my hair in a braid!). Happy with the dremel company and the tool. ... show more

  • Three of them have died within a year
Style: 45 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
I'm serious. I've bought three of these within the past year and each died in exactly the same way. The most recent time - today - I was doing some low-RPM sanding that should not have stressed the motor. But the tool became too hot to hold, the telltale smoke appeared, and then it died. Good luck disassembling it - parts pop out at you. I had a Black and Decker for nearly 20 years and it never gave me any trouble. But Dremel's flagship is just plain trash. Yes, they're convenient, but the accessories are all made of cheap plastic and are over-priced. There's are few jobs that a Dremel can do that another tool can't do as well or better. BEWARE - THE 4300 IS TRASH. ... show more

  • Unreliable.
Style: 45 Piece Kit Pattern Name: Tool Kit
When I received the dremel I was very pleased with its performance and loved it. After 4 uses however I was using a cut off wheel at 2k RPM (the max is 3500h) the unit got hot and started smoking. I turned it off and unplugged let it cool down and now it will not work. In 31 days it burnt itself up.
