I just received and had to review to let people know. I know every size is different but I have a small foot, my usual size in shoes not available so took a risk, knowing it can be returned. The next size up is fine. I want socks anyway. I brought these to be boots to wear to work with fall/winter dresses in cooler weather. I do walks to different rooms at work so I needed a flat. With socks I will get the support needed. I will update my review if wrong. This is the PERFECT boot for winter looks. I like the top string for a secure and a more fitted look. The plus about the lower zipper it does make it easy to get on foot. No struggles at all! But the minus is it might look little bulky and I wish it didn't. I read others post saying similiar. These are for skirts, dresses that I will wear more to work with the lower heal is needed, but when I want an above the knee look to keep legs warm with socks instead of tights, I would honestly get something different with more heel for a more evening out dressy look. That's just me. Don't get me wrong. Appears comfortable for when you need an above the knee boot but when you will also do lots of walking. It's PERFECT for that and delighted it fits. I have medium sized calves. The shaft fits perfectly though I have to tie the top for the boots to stay up. I got lots of compliments wearing them. The shoe part is comfortable too. I would take them to the shoe repair guy to reinforce the sole. It looks like it would wear out.

For reference, I wear 8.5, preferably wide. I ordered these in 8.5 and though they fit, they're too tight, even with my thinnest socks, and feel uncomfortable. The material is suede, thin, and lightweight. They do go over the knees and were fairly easily to put on. Unfortunately they just didn't fit me right ... show more

1 star - Cute boots, but they will not stay up I really wanted to love these because otherwise they are exactly the kind of boots I was looking for. They are cute, comfortable, and I like the overall look. Unfortunately, the biggest problem is that they do not stay up on my thighs. They are supposed to be designed to stay in place, but no matter how tightly I tie them, they still start sliding down while I am wearing them. That completely ruins the experience for me because I spend more time pulling them back up than actually enjoying the boots. If they actually stayed in place, I would have rated them much higher. These are good quality , the suede is. Nice dark black material BUT it does run small I am usually a size 7.5 or 7 but this was tight .. had to return and order one size up. The zipper is was fine no issues and even though I only tried it on in doors it did feel slip resistant to me.. please note if u have skinny legs like mine these will not be as fitted, they will be loose and kinda falling down which is not exactly the style I was going for I wanted a more fitted look ... show more
