Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO itself is an AMAZING game, especially since I grew up playing the original Budokai Tenkaichi games on the PlayStation 2. The graphics are breathtaking, the gameplay is fluid, & I really enjoy being able to play as some of my favorite characters from the Dragon Ball Super series. My issue is that when I received my physical copy of the game, IT DID NOT include the code for me to unlock & play as Goku (Mini) from the Dragon Ball Daima series. This is the ONLY REASON as to why my review is 3 stars and not 5. Whoever was in charge of manufacturing physical copies of the ultimate edition of the game should’ve ensured that all of the content was included in the cases so that customers like myself wouldn’t be facing this issue and have to reach out to Bandai Namco Support to have them to send out a code to unlock a character that I’m entitled to. Until I get that code, I will no longer pre-order a game off Amazon nor will I pre-order a game from Bandai Namco unless this issue gets resolved.

Regarding DLC: I was delivered the DLC (Pre-Order Pack) via email three days before the game was delivered to me. Actually, I was delivered another code just now (probably resent it since many people seemed to not have gotten their codes). If you don't have the DLC still, try searching your email with some keywords like "promotional code," "promotional credit" and "The Amazon Video Games team." The Ultimate Edition add-on is physically in the game case. I don't know if I can find all the words to describe my experience so far. In-game fighting is smooth and cinematic. The game has various game modes (Battle Offline/Online, Episode Battle, Custom Battle, Tournaments) and many ways to customize characters. The game clearly was developed to be a love letter to the fans. The ultimate edition also came with this cool metallic card that changes pictures depending on the viewing angle. It took me a bit to understand most of the offensive and defensive mechanics, but you really only need to understand 60% of the everything to have a good time. I only have two minor "complaints." 1. The mo-cap for some of the scenes (especially present in the main menus) look unnatural and strange for a Dragon Ball game (I can easily look past this). 2. It could just be my monitor, so this can be disregarded, but the HDR is too bright at times and the SDR mode is not bright enough. In otherwords this game is a 10/10 to me.

My only complaint is that it was delivered to the wrong address. My neighborhood is more hood than neighbor and stuff gets stolen ALOT. Thankfully however my neighbor down the street where it was delivered to doesn't have an Xbox X to play this and told me as much when giving it to me. Game is Colorful and Action filled and sure to give challenge to those who enjoy fighter games and with the passing of Toriyama it is also a good gift to those fans who will miss the guy.

I pre ordered this back in June. I got the game and ultimate upgrade package on Oct 13 but it didn't come with the season pass and pre order bonus. So frustrating after ordering so far in advance and paying more for the extras. Do not recommend buying from Bandai Namco
