Description

The Blaire is a versatile sandal packed with comfort and fashion. The Blaire is chalk full of Doc Marten DNA while being built on our new lightweight Ziggy sole. Adjustable straps ensure a personalized fit and a molded sock in each sandal means the fit is comfortable enough for all day wear. Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air- cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

  • Great, but definitely go down a size!!
Size: 7 Color: Peppermint Green Hydro Leather
I read mixed reviews on the sizing of these sandals so I was nervous about getting the right fit since there are no half sizes. I normally wear an 8.5 in women’s shoes, but in my Dr. Martens boots that I own I wear a 9. They are roomy but the 8 seemed too small for a confined boot. It definitely seemed like these sandals would run large, so obviously going down rather than up from my half size was the right choice, but I was still nervous that only a half size down would still be too big. I hesitantly ordered both a women’s 7 and 8 (since amazon had free returns) hoping that one would fit well. I tried on the size 8 first and the length of the foot bed seemed great but the straps that go across the top of your foot were way too big, my foot slid around in there and I definitely wouldn’t have been able to wear them comfortably without tripping on things. So I tried the 7 and the straps were perfect! They hold my foot in place and even for the right spot against my baby toe. The foot bed is definitely on the small side, but it’s JUST big enough that my toes don’t hang off, and because of the style where the sole is bigger than the foot bed it still looks like a good fit. My only complaint is the height of the strap by your heel. I get just a little bit of buckling in that area as if it’s too tall or at the wrong angle for my foot, but it’s probably not noticeable enough for anyone else to see it. There is also a slight defect in the leather cut on one of the shoes, it’s not terrible, but enough that I notice. ... show more

  • Dr.Martens Lite Sandal- if previous models were too clunky than this is the sandal for you!
This is a light yet sturdy sandal fresh out of the box. The sole is not a classic rubber Marten, more of a plastic/foam that still offers decent support. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 in normal shoes, 10 in Martens BOOTS. I have a slightly wide foot. However, I ordered the US 10 and it was too big. Tried again here with the US9, and it's ALMOST a perfect fit. The footbed comes to an unnatural point at the top, but the straps fit all the way across. Neither the 10 or 9 ended up working for me, I would have definitely kept at least one size if either fit :( ... show more

  • these shoes are very friendly for people with wide feet
Size: 9 Color: White Hydro Leather
By far my most favorite shoe I’ve ever had on my feet. Not only are they bouncy and comfortable, but wearing these makes me feel like the baddest b**** around. I get compliments & stares left & right when I wear these. The thing I love the most about them is dressing them up or down. I’m mostly casual so this shoe is definitely my statement piece. Also if you’re wondering- yes they are authentic docs, and i have to say this is the cheapest I’ve seen compared to other sites. 10/10 recommend these lil baddies. Do NOT size up. I’m a solid size 9, and I often wonder if the 8 would’ve fit me because I do have a bit of extra space. I also have semi wide feet and the straps across the feet are generously spacious. ... show more

  • Runs small, may rub ankles raw
Size: 7 Color: Peppermint Green Hydro Leather
I love these sandals. I wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7, and they fit perfectly. So comfy! However, the left strap around my ankle rubs my ankle raw for some reason. I purchased some moleskin to put on the inside of the strap, and that seems to have helped a lot. Sometimes I just preemptively put a band aid on my ankle to pad where it rubs, and that prevents me from getting a sore. Worth it, as I can walk in these sandals all day and not have aching feet at the end of the day! Doc Martens once again delivers a great product! ... show more

  • Size down.
Size: 8 Color: White Hydro Leather
I'm normally a 9 in most brands and am a 8 or 9 in doc Marten sizing. I got the 9--waaaay to big. Sized down witham exchange thru Amazon and they are still a little big but I don't want to return them for a 7 since the 7s are more expensive (at the time I'm writing this review). The 8's look huge when you're not walking. My toes hide inside the straps. But when I start walking my feet move up towards the top so u can see mytoes. There's a lot of space on the sole so I'm sure this would fit wide feet. 4 stars bc of how it looks when I'm resting. looks like I'm wearing shoes 2 sizes to big. Still feels weird when I walk, like it's too big. but I know the 8 is probably the smallest I can go comfortably. Size down. Comes with glitter on the soles? Both pairs had that. ... show more

  • Comfy after a few wears
Size: 6 Color: White Hydro Leather
I read a lot of reviews and saw I needed to size down and I normally wear a size 7.5/8 and I went a whole size down they fit perfect. I did get blisters probably the first 3-4 times I wore these shoes (really broke them in on Vegas Strip lol) but after they got broken in they became my most comfortable pair of shoes. I wear them almost everyday at my bartending job and they rarely give me issues. definitely worth buying them!! just have bandaids ready the first few wears :) ... show more

  • Love + Hate
Size: 6 Color: White Hydro Leather
Overall comfort is Superb. I love, love the feeling of the insole. You can walk all day on these babies since they’re lightweight. But one flaw are the front 3 straps which are very much a one size fits all. If you have a narrow feet but thick foot, then Yes, these will absolutely fit you perfectly. Otherwise, don’t bother purchasing these sandals unless you don’t mind the very loose front straps and just allow the ankle straps to compensate in order to keep the sandal from sliding. And these do run somewhat large. If you normally wear half sizes, then just basically go down a half size smaller. But if you have short toes, then maybe consider a whole size smaller. As much as I would like to keep these sandals, sadly they have to go back for a full refund. They’re just not working out due to these very loose front straps. It looks really unflattering on the front part of the foot. ... show more

  • Insanely comfortable
I purchased these in peppermint green. I was unsure what size to buy since I have never owned Docs before but based on reviews I ordered size 9. I typically wear a women's 11 in shoes, I do not have wide feet. The straps on this style are wider than the Clarissa's I ordered. If they were any shorter in length they would have been too small but thanks to the roomy straps the 9 fits well. I will be exchanging the Clarissa's I purchased in a 9 for a size 10. These are INSANELY comfortable, I haven't had to worry about a "breaking in" period like I've seen with the genuine leather styles. Would definitely recommend (especially if you want shoes that give you a little extra height) ... show more
