Been wearing Docs for years and these are so lovely. As always, it takes a bit to break in the heels because the material is stiff. I usually place 2 pieces of medical tape on my heel before socks and that prevents the blisters. The fit is great, they are comfortable, and look posh. Get these babies in a size smaller and make them submit to the shape of your feet! That’s the way to go with leather. I’m a pretty solid 9.5 in shoes. I can sometimes wear a 9 when the cut is wider. So, I thought a 9 would be perfect in these. But when they came, they looked so big! They felt okay on, but I felt like they would stretch out to the point where they would be wayyyy to big and the back would flip up on me. So I returned them for an 8… and wow, those were super tight too. BUT I refused to let these beautiful babies go. I was DETERMINED to break them in. I got a $20 shoe stretcher on Amazon, let them sit overnight, and now… they are PERFECT. You could probably just do the hairdryer/sock method too if you’re patient… but the shoe stretcher worked marvels. ... show more

I typically wear a size 9 and have wide feet. I took a chance and got these in size 8 and am happy I did. I definitely had to break them in, they were extremely painful and uncomfortable not gonna lie. At times when I took them off I felt like my feet regained feeling, and wearing them almost felt unbearable the first few days. Within a week or two of pretty solid wear I no longer have any discomfort at all. They’re super adorable and I get tons of compliments on them. My Doc boots are a size nine and noticeably looser, I did want these to fit better and appear less bulky for work and am happy to say that they stretched sufficiently as other reviewers mentioned. I’m usually a size 7 1/2 to 8. I first ordered the size UK 4 but it was super snug (bearable if I work on stretching) so I re-ordered in the next size up and it was wayyyy toooo big. The back heels rubbed and the fronts bend when I walked. I love the esthetics of the shoe and how quality they look and feel, however if you’re someone usually between sizes, you might find it hard to find a good fit. I personally have this issues with al Dr.Martens. They are either too tight I can hardly wear or too loose. Just for anyone that is wondering there is a significant difference in the look of the UK4 vs UK5. The Uk5 looked so much more masculine on me and just over all bigger and bulky. The UK4 was more feminine looking and petite. I’m 5’3 and around 130 so the UK5 looked like a mans shoe. So I kept the UK4 but not sure how long I will be able to comfortably wear them :/. The leather is a little stiff, but the shoes are comfortable. The patent is very shiny. The are very versatile, you can dress them up and down and wear them with trousers, skirts, shorts, dresses. I've always wanted a pair of Doc Marten's and finallly bought these. The first pair I ordered was a size 8. I typically wear 7.5 so I thought I would go up to the whole size. My foot was swimming in the size 8. I was very reluctant to go down to size 7 but I did and to my surprise they fit. They were a little snug at first but they are leather and they are giving. Over time I'm sure they will conform to my feet. I wear them with dress pants and dresses both long and short. The shoes came nicely packed and in time just as promised. Shoes cut into your ankle and top presses painfully into the top of your feet. I walked like a cripple in these. Ordered a ten, replaced with a nine. Fit was great, just a terrible shoe. I didn't make the return deadline, so they'll go into the garbage. Waste of money.
