The media could not be loaded. I seriously LOVE these boots. They’re adorable, and they fit perfectly. I am a size 7.5 normally and I ordered an 8. They fit perfectly, and leave room for socks. I just find it absolutely hilarious how big they look when I am not wearing them. They look like they could be my husbands shoes, but once my foot is inside there’s no “extra” room. Super cute. These are definitely a matte white leather. I'm typically a 6.5 or 7 in women's shoes, so I ordered both a size 6 and 7. The 7's were huge. Challenging to get on, and I had way too much extra room by my toes. The 6's fit much better after you yank them on and pound your foot against the gound to actually get your foot all the way in. Strange feeling to walk in, very stiff..so much so that I don't know if I'll ever be able to break them in because at the moment they feel too awkward to walk around in, as if on going to catch the front of the boot and trip with one wrong step. Not like a normal shoe where you can easily step heel to toe while walking. Doesn't help that I live in freezing climate, feels like the rubber bottom just freezes too. I am keeping these and will try to wear them in the spring, bought a different pair of patent white booties similar to these, but much more comfortable, for this winter.

don’t let the bad reviews sway you yet! these turned out to be my favorite & most comfortable docs! as other reviewers have mentioned, yes the leather is super stiff & hard to get your feet in, at least until they’re broken in. i could only get one boot on without actual physical pain..yikes..HOWEVER, once i got my foot inside they fit perfectly! so i knew there was hope about making these work. the putting on / taking off process was an absolute pain, i don’t even have particularly wide feet or a high instep so i assume mostly everyone has this issue with this specific boot? if you can manage to wear these enough or put them on/off enough to break them in on your own KUDOS to you, i couldn’t.. so here’s the solution! the tennis ball hack would be great if that’s where the shoe was tight on me but they’re not. they fit perfectly when my foot is all the way in. instead they were super duper extremely & ridiculously tight as soon as i’d try to slide my heel in. it was definitely the opening & ankle area that was the problem. i was able to slide my foot into the tightest and most painful position during putting them on & hold them there. i used my blow dryer to heat the leather with my foot in that position. i did that all over the ankle area for about 5 mins each, i was able to slide my foot down a tiny bit more and more without pain as they were being heated. after that i let them cool off back to room temperature with my feet still inside them in that awkward halfway position. when i took my foot out and compared my blow dried boot the the one i hadn’t done yet you could see around the ankle area it loosened up and was a bit wider. i tried putting that one on fully & it popped right on like a charm! i did my other one & had the same result. i have absolutely zero problems with getting these on and off now & i love them so much!! i tried everything for these before trying the heating method, it was the only thing that worked for me. hope this helps someone!

I started to send back because it was extremely tight trying to get on and I put my feet to the outside of the sole and saw that the shoe wasn’t too small as I assumed. So I started bending the shoe and had my grandson help me get it on and it was actually roomy for my size 7 so there will be plenty of room to put socks on with the shoe. I own another pair of lace up Doc Marten from 1993 and I have not worn them out and still trying. Let me say this IT IS WORTH THE MONEY BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING A QUALITY SHOE WHICH YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME WEARING THEM OUT BECAUSE THEY LAST FOREVER!!!! So when you read the reviews just know that there will always be someone complaining about this or that and since I have no pony in this race then I AM BEING COMPLETELY HONEST WITH YOU AND YOU WON’T GO WRONG BUYING ANY DOC MARTENS SHOE WEAR JUST GET YOUR REAL SHOE SIZE AND FIGHT TO GET THEM ON INITIALLY UNTIL THEY BREAK IN OR MINK OIL TO LOOSEN UP THE LEATHER BECAUSE YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!!!

Okay, I'm not going to lie to you. These take some work. I've owned many pairs of docs over the years, and these were exactly what I was looking for. However, like my other docs, they needed to be broken in. The downside is that the Chelsea Boots don't have laces, so trying to get your foot in is R O U G H. I took a hammer to the stiff heel and the arch where I struggled, and now they're soft and fit like a dream. I stretched them out with bags of water inside and then putting them in the freezer for a day and it did 95% of the work, and the hammer did the other 5%.
