  • Professional Climbing Training Without the Construction Project Professional Climbing Training Without the Construction Project
This doorway hangboard has completely addressed my concern about maintaining climbing strength without drilling permanent holes into my walls. Its clever design employs a leverage system similar to that of a standard pull-up bar, allowing it to securely hook over the door frame in just seconds. This makes it an ideal solution for anyone who requires a training setup but lacks a dedicated garage or permanent space for a traditional wooden board. The stability is impressive, and I felt confident putting my full weight on it during various grip exercises. The variety of holds and textures offered on the board is well thought out for both beginners and experienced climbers. It features different edge depths, pockets, and jugs, providing a comprehensive workout for finger strength. Because it sits naturally in a doorway, it's easy to fit in a few sets of hangs or pull-ups throughout the day. The material strikes a good balance between friction and comfort, allowing for intense training without risking skin damage before even reaching the crag or gym. One standout feature of this setup is its portability. If I need to clear the doorway for guests or want to move my workout to another room, it takes virtually no effort to unhook and store. It comes with wall protectors that stick on the pressure points, ensuring the bars do not mar my wall. It feels rugged and durable; the hardware is very large, showing no signs of flex or slip during dynamic movements. I am giving this product a 5-star rating because it successfully combines convenience with high-level athletic training. It removes the biggest barrier to home climbing practice by eliminating the need for power tools and permanent modifications. The build quality is exceptional, and the thoughtfully designed grip options provide everything needed to develop finger strength and upper-body power. For any climber looking to stay in peak condition from the comfort of their home, this is an incredibly effective and practical investment. ... show more

  • Premium product but too wide for 30” door frames Premium product but too wide for 30” door frames
I really want to love this and gave it an extra half star for trying. This is definitely a premium product. The fingerboard is routed from a large block of pine and has pairs of depths of finger holds that span across a wide range. The wooden block is crafted beautifully. The metal frame is very robust and perhaps slightly over engineered. It is made from a powder coated steel and is very heavy. It screams quality though. Where it all falls apart is the size of this. It is very very wide and barely fits in a standard 30” door frame. Because you have to include the width of the actual door hanging on the hinge, there is essentially no clearance, maybe a millimeter or two. It took two people nearly five minutes to mount this to the door frame as it includes finagling and folding a spring loaded clip to physically fit the door opening without damaging either frame or door to hook onto the back side of the door frame. They could’ve just made this two inches narrower since the finger board itself is only two feet long but the mount is three feet long. Just a waste of unnecessary metal in my opinion. This is really for 36” door frames only. They should remove reference to compatibility for 28” as it will not fit if you include the actual door getting in the way and subtracting a few inches from that width. Most important, I question the long term safety of the use of this product. For the majority of the holds, this is fine. However, at the base of the hang board are the 10mm, 15mm, and 20mm holds that are at the very bottom of the board but also are routed down to probably a half inch or less clearance to the base of the item. Though rated for 220 pounds (100kg), there is no way a 200 pound person could hang from the lowest point 20mm slots that only have a half inch of soft pine wood support holding them up, without snapping. Try hanging your body weight in a twig and that is the scenario I’m describing here. Perhaps if these smaller holes had a thicker wood border under them for structural support or if there was a metal reinforcement beam across, things would be different. At the moment, I can see this snapping the day after the expiration of the one year warranty. ... show more

  • Excellent Training Tool – Sturdy, Convenient, and Son Approved!
I ordered this Doorway Hangboard Pull-Up Bar for my son after he had been talking about wanting one for quite some time, and it has exceeded our expectations. He was excited to set it up, and the fact that it requires no drilling made installation quick and hassle-free. The construction feels solid and secure, giving him confidence while training. He uses it regularly for grip strength, finger strength, and climbing-specific exercises, and it has held up very well. The variety of grip positions provides a challenging workout and allows him to target different muscle groups and climbing techniques. One thing I especially appreciate is that it fits neatly in a doorway without permanently altering the wall or frame. It’s a great option for anyone who wants to train at home without dedicating an entire room to fitness equipment. If you’re into rock climbing, bouldering, or simply looking to improve grip and upper-body strength, this is a fantastic piece of equipment. Most importantly, my son loves it and uses it often—which says more than any specification ever could. If it can hold up the weight of my almost 200 lbs 6’1” son, it’s worth it. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • One fingertip at a time, our grip strength officially stopped being the weak link. One fingertip at a time, our grip strength officially stopped being the weak link.
Turns Out Tiny Muscles Matter More Than We Thought My husband and I are both pretty avid climbers, so when I saw this doorway hangboard setup, I figured it would either become our favorite training tool… or a very expensive coat hanger. Happy to report it’s definitely the first one. So, we removed our door and leaned against the wall and hung this up the second the delivery guy dropped it off. What I really liked right away was the no-drill setup. The idea of punching holes into walls for training gear was not exactly exciting. This went up surprisingly easily over the doorway and feels secure once it’s in place. No wobbling, no weird shifting, no “I hope this doesn’t launch me backwards” moments. The materials are solidly constructed and this is so versatile. Easy to put up but also easy to take down too! This is made of metal and real wood.. The grip variety is honestly what makes this so useful. Different holds, different depths, and enough options to work finger strength without it getting repetitive. We’ve both noticed better endurance during climbs and less hand fatigue on longer routes. Even outside of climbing, my grip strength has noticeably improved opening jars… which feels like an unexpected bonus achievement. I also appreciate that it doesn’t scream “home gym equipment” from across the room. It’s compact enough that it doesn’t take over the entire doorway or look obnoxious in the house. One thing I’d definitely recommend is easing into it if you’re newer to hangboard training. Your forearms will absolutely let you know they exist the next day. We learned that lesson quickly. Overall, this has been a really solid addition to our climbing training at home. Convenient, sturdy, and actually motivating to use regularly instead of becoming another abandoned fitness gadget after two weeks. That alone deserves a gold star in my book. Excellent value! ... show more

  • Does not fit regular doors
Deducted 2 stars because this does not fit most doorways. You need fat, thick door way walls to use this - like 2 feet thick. Easy to install, if it fit the doorway. Very sturdy, if only it fit regular doorways. Included everything needed, except the ability to make it fit a regular doorway. Amazing & brilliant design, my teens were super excited to do pull ups and test out the fingerboard for rock climbing. but can't use. ... show more

  • Great quality and damage free, but a can be tricky for shorter climbers Great quality and damage free, but a can be tricky for shorter climbers
I’m a mid-forties, 5’3 woman that started climbing 2 years. I love it so much that it’s now my preferred activity for my physical and mental health. Until now, I’ve only occasionally used hangboards at the gym but have been wanting to incorporate it more into my routine. So I ordered this Lumia one since it could be hung in the doorway and comes with a pull up bar. The set up felt a little clumsy, but I was still able to get it in the doorframe within 15 minutes of opening the box. The construction is very sturdy and easily holds my average sized petite frame. However, the height’s not adjustable so it’s a bit higher than I would have liked. I can manage to reach the top holds if I go on my tip-toes, but it’s not the most convenient placement for someone my size. However, the pull-up bar is right at my sweet spot so I find myself using it the most. Besides improving my grip and arm strength, I’m also really enjoying just deadhanging and the almost instant relief I get from decompressing my spine. The bar can feel slick really quickly though so I typically wear gloves when I’m hanging. As a funny aside, the company included a comically large hex key in the installation kit which seems to have no apparent purpose. I decided to weigh it and saw it was 3.3oz. For comparison, I also weighed a standard size hex key that was 0.6oz as well as a small key that was only 0.2oz. ... show more

  • Easy to setup and use Easy to setup and use
This fingerboard is super convenient in its simplicity, and ease of setup. All you need is a doorframe and you’re in business. No drills, screws or nails. Just hang in over the doorframe and go. Likewise, you can remove it and put it away as needed. I was concerned that the wood may not hold but it’s quite sturdy. The varying holds are perfect to progress your training and finger/grip strength. The pull-up bar (handles) are also a nice touch. The grip is a spongy material that provides a solid hold for hanging or pull-ups alike. I love this fingerboard and highly recommend it. ... show more
