I worked in the outdoor industry for nearly 2 decades and have sold, tested, and used dozens of snowshoes from inexpensive "recreational" pairs to high-end (expensive) trekking sets. I currently own 6 pair of varying styles from lightweight running snowshoes to a pair designed for deep unpacked snow and heavy pack loads. I always try to have a set or two of lightweight recreational snowshoes to loan others wanting to try snowshoeing or for sudden guests who want to go for an adventure. I recently retired one of my recreational pairs and ordered this set from Doorslay to replace it. The Doorslay Snowshoes for Men, Women, and Youth is a well made, lightweight, and very reasonably priced snowshoe "kit". I say "kit" because the snowshoes include a pair of extendable trekking poles and a storage/ transport bag as well. While I would not choose to use this set for an extended length backpacking trip, this set by Doorslay offers an affordable entry into snowshoeing for those seeking to enjoy the sport; I would have no qualms about using these for a day of exploration. The anodised aluminum frames are well made, shaped, and finished. The decking is strong and well riveted. The aluminum toe and heel crampons are robust and strong, and the anti-slip heel plate provides very good grip. The bindings are durable and easy to adjust and use. The adjustable aluminum trekking poles arrive with a set of removable snow baskets and include a rubber tip cover for hard ground trekking and an ice-tip underneath for winter use. The lightweight poles extend and collapse easily for use and storage and include a lightweight set of plastic clips to help hold them together. It's truly amazing how aluminum snowshoes have developed over the years. My first pair, purchased over 30 years ago, sold for well over $100 (no poles or case included) and the crampons and bindings were far inferior to those equipped on the Doorslay. The Doorslay Snowshoes for Men,Women, and Youth are definitely a very good quality, very affordable snowshoe set and I would readily recommend it to others.

Nice lightweight snowshoes with matching poles. The perfect size for all around snowshoeing and the bottom cleats are a big plus when you run into hard frozen and ice areas. The poles work good too with the large snow baskets. Also the poles are good for hiking poles, just slip off the rubber tips when you want a hard carbon tip for hiking rocky areas. No Cons.
