  • Exactly what I needed
Color: Black
Delivered as promised. Absolutely dockable. Very tight fit so might feel uncomfortable at first. Putting the case on and taking it off the Switch is easy. Attaching and detaching joy con’s is easy. Feels very solid and if I was to accidentally drop it would receive minimal to no damage. Feels very comfortable to hold and in my opinion more comfortable than a naked Switch. Looks absolutely stylish. ... show more

  • Dependable AND Dockable!
Color: Black
This case legitimately has it all! Mumba really took the time to figure out what their customers wanted in a case, because this thing is almost perfect! There are a few negatives about this case, and if I could I’d give this 4.5 starts instead of a full 5, but the cons don’t bother me enough to take off a full star. The pros definitely outweigh the cons! PROS: -Takes some wiggling, but it IS fully Dockable (using the OG Nintendo Dock) -There is a hole for the charging cords to fit through, so you don’t have to take it off to charge via cord -You can detach/switch out joy cons! -The case is thicc! It seems to be a tough, textured material that has (so far) withstood several drops and dog feet -The case has a really cool look to it as well, the design on the back is attractive to both guys and girls (I’ve received compliments from both), and the larger, textured handle grips feel 10x more comfortable than without them -Fits in my travel BIONIK Switch bag, no need to take it off on trips CONS: -Pass through hole isn’t big enough to house the bluetooth adapter from Genki (or most of the other brands), or likely most other adapters -Case is in the large side! meaning if you have a smaller/more simple day trip case where you’re not bringing cords and accessories, just the switch and a game or two, don’t expect to fit this case into it. I have the Hori aluminum Zelda hard case, and the Mumba will not fit. However it is lightweight and snaps onto the switch easily, so I throw it into my day bag and snap it on when I take out my switch. That might be a deterrent for some, but for me as long as it’s easy and fast, I still use it every day. -As stated earlier, it will dock in MY OG dock, but I’ve seen some reviews stating it doesn’t in theirs. I have the Switch V1, I’m not sure if there’s a difference in docks V1 vs V2, but there’s a small chance it won’t fit in yours. Also amazon has a great return policy. -Another thing with the dock, I have to really finagle the switch to get it to settle into the dock properly. I’ve went to play switch after a night of supposed charging, only to find out that I hadn’t seated it properly and it hadn’t been charging all night. This could be due to the fact that I also have a glass screen protector on the front, and between the thickness of the case + the thickness of the screen protector, it’s just a really really tight fit. But I’m not going to leave my screen bare, because I’m afraid the Switch wiggling will eventually scratch my screen. So if you’re like me and have all the protection, then be prepared to spend a minute or two to make sure the Switched is properly seared and charging. ... show more

  • Awesome
Color: Black
Really nice case with great functionality, aesthetics and grip comfortability. This makes playing in handheld mode so much more fun and interactive. This doesn’t exactly protect the front of the device, but it definitely protects the back and corners. This case makes the device look much nicer and sleek-like. The controller-style handles provide easier finger movements and reduce finger cramping from extended playtime. They’re comfy and would even allow you to flail your console around during gameplay without worry of it flying out of your hands. Now I’ll address the reviews that talk about how this case makes the switch difficult to dock. This is not true at all. Not by any means. The reviews that state this complaint are from those who are simply not lining up the Switch with the charging insert in the dock properly. Line it up properly and it’ll slip right in perfectly flush. However, do note that if the Switch has both this case AND a screen protector on, it’ll be too thick and will NOT fit the dock. ... show more

  • Comfortable in the hand, uncomfortably tight in the dock
Color: Black
I bought this product, with the unfortunate and clear understanding that no Switch case of this sort will give me exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a Switch case that: - Could be docked - Increased comfort while playing handheld - Had access to the kickstand for table top - Had easy joy-con access. Unfortunately no such product exists even thought they all get frustratingly close. This one technically does 3 of those 4 things, but does like 2.5 of those 4 things decently. First things first, scroll through any review and they'll all say the same thing, "it's tight". Yes, its very tight, yes it takes some getting used to, no I don't think you'll damage the dock or the switch putting it in. While the plastic of the Switch dock might warp out its certainly better than bowing in and even then it does't bow it out so much as running into resistance near the bottom of the dock. The way it can even dock is that it has indents for the guiding "rails" on the dock and the bottom has no lip over the main body and screen of the console, it's interesting and makes me wonder why other cases don't have this. Despite the indents and bottom of the case, it is finicky and I believe due to the tightness of the case I've had some issues with the glass screen protector. Long story short, its tight, but (don't quote me on it) I don't think it would severely damage or break either your console or your dock, you just have to line it up and push. Second it's really comfortable, it's substantially better feeling than a naked Switch and feels more like a controller. The left joy-con fills out my hand really nicely, and though the right one feels a tad off due to the right joy-con's thumb stick placement, it's still miles better than whatever grip the joy-cons aren't trying to have. Good comfort in handheld mode for sure. Third no access to the cruddy kickstand for table top with friends :'( This for me, and I'm assuming some of you, is a (non)issue. I like the cruddy kickstand when I'm not home. I don't need anything else to play on a table, but I also always have my shell? case for my case? carrying case. The carrying case I have has a flap that folds into a sort of stand to play in table top with joy-cons detached. So yes its a shame they didn't cut out a slot for it, but also depending on preference not really a big deal. Short aside referring to the carrying case. It doesn't fit. The case fits too perfectly around the Switch and there's no room for any give. I bought my Switch recently and I jumped the gun buying this case from Gamestop. I've had a Switch and this case before and I really enjoyed it, so I figured I'd buy it again when I bought the console, however I can't return it for a bigger one, and I'd rather not buy another one. It may be buyer's remorse, but it's left me a little sour. Moral of the story, make sure if you have a carrying case, that it's large enough. If you don't already have one both Orzly and Mumba themselves make really good carrying cases that fit the Switch with this case on. Aside over, fourth point, easy joy-con removal. This is a nice feature, and it's well done. I wish there was a slightly larger cut out for the release button, but it's not that big an issue. Keep in mind though that when you remove them that gives the case around the screen area to move around so you need to make sure the screen is centered before you remove or put on one or both joy-cons so the case doesn't interfere with the rails. Not a huge deal but it's something I noticed and thought I should mention. Lastly, It looks rad as hell. I love how it look's its very rugged yet sleek and gives a very "gamer" feel without coming off as harsh and like it's trying too hard, the material combo of the hard plastic and the softer TPU is nice and has a cool contrast in my opinion. Because of the ruggedness of the case if you dropped your Switch I do think it would be protected short of the screen itself and the added weight to the joy-con would most likely cause it to land on the well protected sides. I love that it has a hole for cell phone charms or a wrist strap. I have a few cell phone charms from my original 3DS, and had nowhere to put them (my phone case doesn't have a hole) so now I can add some personal flair to my Switch which is a nice little bonus. Overall it's a solid case and hopefully a good starting point for this series of case. Mumba makes really cool looking stuff and it all seems well built. There are really good ideas here, but some things I'd improve on are: - bring back the kickstand or add a better one - make it more dockable (thinner) - maybe offset the right joy-con grip similar to the Satisfye grip case - slightly larger cut outs for the release buttons TL;DR It's a cool looking rugged case, it's too tight in the dock but it probably won't damage the dock or the system and you might have issues with screen protectors if you dock it. It's protective and comfortable. No kickstand makes me sad. Make sure it'll fit in your carrying case beforehand. Removing joy-cons is a nice feature. overall good, but could use some small iterative improvements. ... show more
