I freakin' love these dice. But first, I'm going to mention the two things I found... weird. 1) About half the die is actually a completely opaque, dark purple. Which none of the photos show. 2) The part of the die with the "galaxy" on it is often centered under the number 1 rather than the highest number on the die. Now, personally, I would have made them so that the galaxy was viewable by the highest number, because that's generally the angle I want to look at my dice if they're on display and they only have one "great angle." Both of those are actually rather trivial, though. Everything else about these dice are great. 1) They look SUPER SICK! Love the way these look. Even the purple bit looks nice. I assume they had to include the purple bit because of manufacturing difficulties. But, if they ever made a set where the entire die was see through and you could view the "galaxy" from any angle, that would be super tuffer. 2) They're "sharp" dice, but more rounded than typical sharp dice, and I feel like they actually found the perfect balance between sharp and rounded. 3) The numbers are SUPER easy to read. They're HUGE! And they're white, so the color contrast really helps with their legibility. I really hate dice that you can't see what the heck they rolled. 4) They have a great feel to them. 5) They roll exactly how I'd like them too. They don't fly off the table all the time. 6) They're heavy, but not like metal dice, so I don't feel like they're going to scratch up my glass tables. 7) They generate their numbers pretty randomly, which is theoretically what you should want in a die unless you're a dirty cheesecake-eating cheater. Despite what at least one other reviewer said, I've rolled each die 100 times now, recorded its results, and then determined the means, modes, and medians for each, and they're pretty random. Not quite "Game Science" dice random, but much better than most dice sets. So regardless of any weird perceptions about the purple vs. galaxy side of the dice generating a weight issue, they generate their numbers really well. 8) The case they come in is phenom. Great design. Feels very high end. 9) The dice themselves are a little bigger than average. I actually like this form factor. 10) My very first roll on the d20 when I pulled it from the box was a nat twendo, so pardon me, but Imma go throw some fireballs now. TL;DR: Great set of dice. Perfect in almost every way. However, with this set the aesthetics are clearly the main appeal, and it is weird that the viewing angle on each die where you can see the cool little galaxy inside is often around the number 1 on the die. Just to get it out of the way, there's only 1 thing I consider bad about these dice, and that's that they are just a LITTLE bigger than a normal set. Overall, this isn't a problem, but the dice tower I use constantly gets them stuck part way through because of the size difference. This is no where near enough for me to knock off a full star, but I do want to point that out, as the size is not clearly mentioned anywhere. Ok, that out of the way, these dice are Wonderful! I love the little planetary systems displayed inside with the "backdrop" of space. They're absolutely gorgeous and great to look at and play with. With the complexity of the inner stuff, I was worried their balance might be off, but that worry was completely unfounded. After doing dozens of test rolls and utilizing them in several game sessions, I haven't seen any bias in the rolls in any direction. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend these dice for anyone who wants a beautiful set for a more than reasonable price. As you can see in the picture having the 1 as the focal point for the design inside is not always a great idea for gamers. While the 20 is more pronounced being on the other side and some may like it I was a bit disappointed. The pictures for the listing all show the same thing and I figured it was randomized but apparently not (or I just rolled a 1!). However, that being said, it is of great quality, the design is beautiful and it rolls well (averages check out, its not imbalanced as the "look" makes it appear to be). I do recommend but just be aware of the number placement if you are anything like most gamers and have a weird thing about where the 1 shows up. I will be getting a full set eventually regardless but it will mainly be for the collector in me. ... show more

The dice do not match the product image and not worth $40 it is plastic with a cheap iridescence fake pearl as the Galaxy or plant and sparkling glitter or paint with glitter. Clear on the top half of the dice and painted black or a dark purple almost black on the bottom. Looks terrible. Returning.
