No, they aren't metal. No, they aren't marbled. What they are is a set of small dice that are very easy to read. The black pips against the yellow die surface pops out at you so that you are sure to see what you rolled. Be sure to note that these are smaller than typical dice. Since that is what I was looking for, these suit me perfectly. If you are looking for dice the size of those found in a typical board game or craps table, these are too small. I would definitely recommend these if you are looking for easy-to-read high-contrast dice. ... show more

Hi, hope the pictures help you better understand the actual size of the dice. I purchased the dice for using them as monster health trackers in the gloomhaven jaws of the lion board game.
