We added these to my daughter’s walk-in closet for more storage and organization. She is 12 and was able to put it together all by herself. It’s very lightweight and easy to move around. You can put books, photo boxes, stuffed animals, etc. on these easily. 12” fabric drawers would technically fit, but these openings are more rectangular, not square like traditional 9 cube shelving. For the price, this was a great purchase and we would definitely buy it in other colors. ... show more

It took about an hour to build. It wasn’t hard once we got started but the instructions were pretty unclear. None of the pieces are labeled the same as the instructions so that made it difficult but once we got the hang of it, it was fine. It’s definitely a cheap quality but good for kids toys, etc. We are missing an entire small panel as pictured above. That is disappointing for sure. This product is definitely over priced. This is more like $15/$20 quality rather than $30/$40 but it works. ... show more

I debated on giving this item 1 star many many many times while putting it together for over 2 hours. The instruction card they give you is a joke. So I had to take this thing apart so many times and basically figure it out on my own. It will be very secure if put together right. The poles will come out if done incorrectly is all I can tell you. After I finally got this thing put together, it does make a wonderful book shelf and why it got 4 stars. It’ll be 5 stars once they spend more time on a detailed instruction sheet. Would have saved me SO much time and made for a super frustrating experience. Make sure the center pieces are always in the middle and end pieces on the end. They look very similar but are not. The center pieces will have holes on both sides where as the side pieces do not. When assembling, Lay these flat and insert the poles and mesh lining for keeping them extra secure. Best way I found after 3 times reassembling. I would know. Also, be extremely gentle when sliding the poles into the mesh. It will tear easily which happened to me. Sucks! I just used those screwed up ones on the bottom. *Short poles are all gonna be going up. Long poles will all be going across. 2 long poles slide through the mesh and 2 go across under the mesh. Always make sure the center pieces that the poles connect to have holes on both sides otherwise you’ll have to take it off and fix it and that really isn’t fun. ... show more

I have it in my office, its functional. I broke one of the fabric pieces while putting it together but not a big deal i just left one of the cubbies double wide. Its held up fine but one day Ill replace it with something a little nicer.

Pros: Appearance. Good size. Budget friendly. Cons: Overall weight is light. Potentially a hazard. Assembly requires reading. Safety is a concern - see my picture. Depending on the age of your kid this may pose as a hazard and to help mitigate that without having to bold it against the wall we slid it behind the bed. We don't expect our kid to climb on that of that but you never know. This storage cube is super light! It's nice and I wouldn't call it it fragile. I gave it a 3 star for sturdiness because as a whole it is not but the design of 4 bars across should hold up well if you put some books in there. The covers may break off over time and I'm not too sure what it is called but reminds me of those reusable bags. Time will only tell. At first I thought I may have overbent some parts but I realized why they made 4 little slots on the beam support. It actually makes it "flexible" to push into the beam since you most likely will secure one beam at a time. Good thinking! Assembly. Well I thought I could do without it but it was confusing. I thought all pieces were identical and wrong. You cannot pick any configuration you want because there are some bar supports that have holes on both sides for beam and then there are ones for only one. Just keep that in mind when you build/buy this that it's not build to any config you want. There's an asterisk to it. For our use, a night stand-ish type of thing for our kid is absolutely perfect. Night diapers, lotion, spot for his water, and we recently got a night light too (which I'll review later too). Overall, we are pleased with our purchase and we would be careful not to put too much weight on it in the future as it is a potential hazard. ... show more
