One of her friends had this and she was obsessed, it has a weak clasp made of plastic that allows it to be easily removed. I gave this necklace to my 3 year old granddaughter in her Easter basket. The necklace stretches and can easily be slipped over the head, but it also has a clasp with ends that easily push together. My granddaughter easily put it on. Pressing the shell is easy to get Ariel to sing a short portion of a song. The shell also lights up as she sings. Even though this necklace is based on the wicked mermaid in stealing Ariel’s voice in the movie, I explained it to my granddaughter as Ariel wanting to share her voice and have her sing along with her.
