I’m 5 ft tall, 120-130 lbs, 28.5 in waist, 38in hips, & 35in bust. I bought this in Small and Medium because my measurements are between sizes. I ended up keeping the medium and sending the small back - I’m wearing the medium in the pic and just under garments underneath as it was fairly warm when I wore this so it’s still flattering and hugs my waist even though I kept the larger size. I could fit into the small but squeezing the cinched waist over my hips was pretty tight. I’m also short so the length was perfect for me. It is a thin material but I prefer that for costumes since u can always put base layers underneath if u need more warmth. Also I saw others complaining about the open armpits in the costume and it’s not at all noticeable unless you take a pic from the side or back with your arms up which I understand is a completely plausible pose for this costume. I actually like the open armpits because it keeps you cool if you’re in a warm space and you can put a black shirt underneath if you’re in a cold space. Also, the cap that came with it was fine but I didn’t want to wear something over my ears so I found a headband instead and I’ll just have the option of the full cap or headband depending on temperature. Oddly, the quality of the small size costume was not as good as the medium. The shoulder details didn’t stand up at all on the small but with a couple of safety pins the shoulder details on the medium were perfect. Also the placement of the skull on the chest of the costume was really low on the small but perfect on the medium. It’s attached with a small piece of Velcro so the placement is easily fixed with a little more Velcro but luckily I didn’t have to do that on the medium. I’m sure the shoulder details could be fixed with some wire if you’re a little crafty and get one that’s been smooshed like the small one that I got. Overall I’m VERY pleased with this costume especially the medium that I kept. If I had kept the small and had to make a lot more adjustments to it then I might’ve given fewer stars but it worked out well for me with the medium this time so I’m completely satisfied. I read a lot of reviews. I found this costume to be an excellent value. The horns were not lopsided and they stood up nicely. The headpiece was made well. I found the dress being true to size. I received tons of compliments on this costume. I was hesitant to purchase it because you can never tell by the photo, but I was pleasantly surprised. What I wanted to know most were how the horns were constructed. The head wrap is a sort of "pleather" material (which looks nice) and the horns are stuffed with a pretty sturdy foam material, kind of like a tightly packed stuffed animal. Expected cheap costume material, and that's what I got! However, it more than did the job. Bit of a tip for wrinkle removal, since mine arrived folded nicely in plastic packing and kept its fold lines: after spraying it down with water and letting it tumble a bit in the dryer (but never let it dry completely!) I hung it up in my bath room and let it sit through a few hot showers! The shoulder pads never quite stood up as in the picture, and the brooch always seemed off-center (it attaches to a velcro dot), but it was overall a great costume when paired with the glowing staff and layered with another black skirt! Also - I ordered a different headpiece, a plastic one, but it made my head sweat. The one that comes with this costume is cloth. Its shape may not be 100% on point, but it is a much more comfortable material! ... show more

My daughter is 10. Wears a medium shirt from Aeropostale and a size 5 in junior jeans or a 14 plus in kids(when we can find them) she is about 4'10". The fit was spot in. She loved this outfit. The jewel in the mid chest area is Velcro holds okay. The shoulder horns? are not sturdy. In the photo provided I cut a poster board in the shape of the horns and taped them with black tape. This held for the event we where doing to but something better for sturdiness is recommended. The head peice also is not sturdy (I used black duck tape to tape together to hold upright) and staff are not included. She has on some boots that are have an inch or so heel/sole which helped with the dress not on the ground completly. She did have on blk leggings and blk cami. The item is was beautiful highly recommend. She loved it and the smaller children loved it too. ... show more

The headpiece was huge, and not great quality- more like a quilted hat that didn't stay on my head. (i wrapped the whole head piece black electrical tape to make it smaller and remain on my head.) The dress was fine except that the 'jewel' piece was quite heavy and it was held in place with a small, inadequate piece of velcro..i added a second piece to keep it stable. The shoulder pieces were quite wily- i used more electrical tape on the underside of those to keep them stable. But for the inexpensive price it was a good choice, just required some tweaking. ... show more

This costume was amazing! It was incredibly dramatic, fit well, and it was a big hit with the kids in my neighborhood. I dressed up to hand out candy on Halloween night with my family. The reaction from both the children and adults in my neighborhood was fantastic. Several parents and children asked to take their picture with Maleficent. At least ten different people asked where I got my costume, and I was happy to share the information. I read some other reviews that complained about the quality of the dress and horns, but my horns were well shaped and held their shape nicely. The dress was comfortable and fit as you would expect a Halloween costume to fit. It wasn't a tailored dress, but looked great once I got the wrinkles out. I also purchased black wings separately, as well as the staff in the picture. They added a nice touch to the ensemble, as did some dramatic make-up. I would definitely recommend this costume!! Nothing like in the image, the base costume is made of cheap material and the seams in the fron and side were ripped when we opened the package. If I didnt know how to fix it I would have sent it back. Would not buy again. Would not recommend

We had a Magic themed birthday party for Halloween and this was my costume. Everyone loved it. I also wore it to work (I'm a teacher) and it was a big hit with my students. I have a lot of hair so by the time I wrapped it into a bun, the head piece fit almost perfectly and I did not have any issues with it falling off easily - it was snug and the horns stood up like they were supposed to. But I can see how other people with less hair will have problems with getting it to fit. My advice is to stuff it with socks or a towel or something until it fits snuggly on the head. I also used a black belt to help it be more fitted around m waist. Some reviewers complained that the sleeves were not closed, which is true, but the costume still looked fine. I wore a black tank top under it. Though a black turtle neck would probably be more true to the movie. Perhaps my only complaint would be that the little fins coming off the shoulders didn't really stand up well. You could sort of play with them to get them to stand up but they didn't stay up and they sort of flopped around. It wasn't terribly bad but not perfect either. I still loved the costume. As far as accessories go, I wore black boots and made my own staff. I had found a neat wine stopper that in the shape of a pine cone molded out of clear acrylic. It has an multicolor LED light in it so it glows different colors that fade into one another. I attached it to the top of a copper rod I had in the garage and it worked out well. ... show more
