  • Excellent value for Challenge Coins
Color: Silver-Plated
I was so excited to order and try these challenge coin blanks. I knew they were not really gold or silver plated, but that was just the description of the color of the coin. I wish there were a little more details about what the actual composition is. That info might have helped me before I decided to etch the surface with a laser or milling machine. I did not risk the fine tips of my CNC engraver without knowing what type of material the core of these coins were. The things that Disabeki did right was definitely the size, weight, and including the acrylic capsule to keep your challenge coin preserved. Overall, it was such a great value, that I did not worry about some trial-and-error. Some other reviews mentioned the coins did not etch very well with a laser, so I tried using a 3D multilayer ink printer. At first, some layers layers built up well, and turned out really nice looking, but the ink didn't adhere to the matte finish. Then, when I cleaned the surface of each coin with isopropyl alcohol before trying to print, the UV ink stuck much better. The raised edge of the coin is ideal to protect the edge of the print, when printing across the full surface. I also liked how the silver color added contrast and avoided the need to use white ink. The printer I used was the eufyMate E1 UV printer. ... show more

  • The size, quality, weight and feel are excellent!
Color: Silver-Plated
I love this 24 pack of Disabeki blank challenge coins. They have a great weight and thickness to them, and each coin is a good size, giving them a great quality and professional feel. The alloy material is great. It has a nice heft and weight in your hand. The smooth metal surface has a polished finish that makes names, dates, logos, symbols, or custom art you engrave, just pop. It comes out looking clean and sharp! I also appreciate that each coin is individually packaged in an acrylic case. It keeps them clean and scratch free during shipping. It also keeps them looking great when giving them as gifts, which is a thoughtful touch. They're perfect for engraving projects, commemorative coins, awards, party favors, gifts, keepsakes, or even DIY projects. The quality definitely exceeded my expectations. Considering the phenomenal price and the fact each coin comes with a case, it's a win, win, win. They look fantastic right out of the package and provide an excellent blank canvas. If you're looking for durable, high quality blank coins for engraving, I would not hesitate to recommend them! ... show more

  • Exceptional Quality for Fiber Laser Engraving
Color: Silver-Plated
I’ve been experimenting with various substrates for custom keepsakes and fleet recognition awards in my shop, and these Disabeki Silver-Plated Blank Challenge Coins are hands-down the best I’ve found at this price point. If you are a laser hobbyist or professional looking for a blank that takes a mark beautifully and feels like "duty-grade" hardware, these are it. The Highlights: Perfect for Fiber Lasers: I ran these through my 50W Fiber Laser, and the results were stunning. The silver plating is consistent and thick enough to handle high-contrast engraving without immediately burning through to the core. I was able to achieve deep, clean blacks and bright, frosted whites for a truly professional look. Premium Weight and Feel: At 40mm x 2mm, these have that satisfying "heft" you expect from a real challenge coin. They don't feel like cheap, stamped tin. The reeded edges add an extra touch of class and authenticity that makes the finished product feel like high-end custom fabrication. Flawless Presentation: The inclusion of 24 individual acrylic protective cases is a massive value-add. It keeps the coins in pristine, mirror-polished condition while you're working with them and provides a ready-to-gift presentation the second the engraving is finished. Clean Surface Finish: Out of the box, the coins were exceptionally clean with no noticeable scuffs or oxidation. This saved me a significant amount of prep time—I was able to go straight from the box to the laser bed. Bulk Value: Getting 24 coins in a single set is perfect for small batch runs or iterative testing. It’s an incredibly cost-effective way to produce custom gifts, commemorative coins, or professional business "cards" that people actually want to keep. ... show more

  • Good blanks for laser engraving, cases are a nice inclusion
Color: Silver-Plated
The silver plating is clean and takes laser engraving well without the finish flaking at the edges of the engraved area. The 40mm diameter is a good standard challenge coin size. Reeded edge gives them the right look and feel. The acrylic display cases are included and actually presentable — a good detail for gift coins. 24 coins per pack is good quantity for a batch project. Consistent weight and thickness across the set. Good starting point for custom challenge coin projects, memorial coins, or personalized gifts. ... show more

  • Excellent Results with IR Laser — Best Challenge Coin Blanks I’ve Used
Color: Silver-Plated
Wow — these are great! I’ve used many different challenge coin blanks with my laser engraver over the last couple of years, and these are by far the best I’ve tried. I typically use brass-colored coins, but I was curious to see how these silver coins would engrave. I used my normal settings for brass coins on the first try, and the clarity, shading, and detail of the image honestly had me in awe. The engraving came out extremely clean, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to brass after seeing these results. The protective acrylic cases are also a nice addition, although they can be a little difficult to open. I measured the coins at approximately 40 mm x 2.3 mm, and they appear to weigh about 0.6 oz each based on my scale. One important note for laser users: these did not work with my blue diode laser. The silver surface reflected my 40-watt diode completely. However, my 2-watt IR laser worked great, producing excellent contrast and detail. Overall, I’m very impressed with the quality and engraving results. Highly recommended for anyone using an IR laser for custom challenge coins. ... show more
