Purchased for 4 year old boy who loves anything related to dinosaurs or trucks, so it was pretty much sure to be a hit. The photo description implies batteries are not needed, however it does require two AA batteries which are not included. Once installed the button on the top will make the truck "roar" and the lights flash. The button makes it appear that it controls 4 separate functions, however it is just a single large button with multiple images printed across it. The truck itself seems to be of good quality and should hold up well to lots of play. There are small holes on the trailer that appear it was originally intended for some other type of accessory to attach to it, as the dinos do not have pegs on their feet to go into these holes. This was a bit frustrating for the child as the dinos do not all stand up well on their own and will tend to fall over or off the trailer during play. Overall still fun, but will likely get more play time as a truck for hauling other items and the dinos will just join our other larger dino collection. ... show more

What 3-5 year old doesn't love dinos and trucks? Some but not most. This has lots of appeal and the 3 year old I gave it to absolutely was in love. For a couple of days. The problem with these toys is they wear thin for kids after a few days and then the parents curse you for giving it to them--because they step on the dinos in their bear feet. O, well.
