I absolutely LOVE these cushioned mats for my kitchen! I have neuropathy in my feet, and these cushy mats allow me to cook in the kitchen in comfort. I bought 2 of the long ones, and put them in an L where I do most of my cooking and washing up. I am going to buy another one for in front of the fridge. First, I had ordered a different brand, but sent them back because the off-gassing, even through the plastic covers, was really bad. These do not have a smell. The top layer of the mats is quite thin and the 6' mat had a small tear after 3 days. I would not order another one since they are more fragile than the other solid type mats I used previously in my kitchen. My previous mats were a solid material, not layered. These mats are thinner and are longer but narrower than my previous mats. I also have the same size in my bathroom and I hope it holds up better. They look nice in both the kitchen and the bathroom. Replaced a more traditional kitchen rug that was "smooth short weave" on the top with a sewn border. This works so much better because it is much softer to stand on (especially in socks), much easier to clean (wipe it with a wet paper towel vs. vacuum), doesn't slide around like the other rug did (even though we tried carpet tape under it), and blends in better with our dark hardwood floor.
