    • Sturdy pack that travels well
I have only had this tool pack for a couple of months, but so far, I have no complaints. It has traveled with me to Turkey, Canada, and other locals by plane and by boat and has held up very well. I have read about zipper issues with this pack, but I haven't experienced any of that yet. I keep the weight of the tools down to 50lbs when I travel, so maybe that is the trick to keep the zippers from separating under load that others have reported. The light is handy, especially in the bowels of a ship. with both main pouches open the bag stands up well and my tools are easily accessible.     • Happy I spent the $80 some odd dollar's on this bag!
I've only had it for about 2 months, but I am very pleased with the amount of room and the organizational ability of it. The DEWALT DGL523 Lighted Tool Backpack Bag compacts a lot of tools into a manageable space. I've always leaned toward DeWalt products and I'm happy I stuck with my guns and stayed with them. The light does come in handy in darker locations. I did have more expensive bags that I was considering, but told myself DeWalt hasn't let me down yet (With the exception of the DEWALT DW2055B 6-Inch Magnetic Drive Guide. which seem to lose their sleeve easy and break occasionally anymore). I’ve had this bag for two years (well, not this bag, but more on that later) and I love this bag. I’m an apartment maintenance supervisor and I carry every hand tool that I might need in it and still have a few extra pockets leftover. As you can see it is a convenient, durable way to carry your tools around the property. After seeing me carry it around, my technicians will stop and ask me about it and I will always recommend they get one for themselves, and a few actually have! However, the reason for the four stars instead of five stars is this… I mentioned to you earlier that I’ve had this bag for two years, but not quite. Because you see, I finally had to buy a new one. The first thing to go was one of the zippers. The first one came separated from the track about six months after I bought it. OK, no biggie. Just use one zipper. Then about a month ago, almost 2 years to the day that I bought it, the other zipper broke, and the track also ripped out. Meaning I can no longer carry it like a backpack, and would have to use the caring handles up top. Bummer. I’ll be more diligent with it this time and hopefully it’ll outlast the first one. I work HVAC/R and I had the old sling style bag and a bucket bag before I bought this. This is by far the best bag I’ve bought in some time. We do a lot of cleanings in the winter and during service calls it’s great that the bag is on my back. I’ve gone into some questionable basements this season (hoarders) and my old bag was extremely hard to maneuver through said tight spaces. It was exhausting and sometimes pretty painful carrying a 30-40lb tool bag in front of your body with no leverage. Fast forward, I’ve had the bag for a month now and wow, it is much easier to get in an out of homes and businesses, I still bring in the bucket, mainly just something to sit on at this point. The designers did a great job in the placement of the pockets and the accessibility is great. It holds all my electrical tools; my multi, a set of bits and a drill in the big compartment. The big compartment fits all your larger pliers also. The from pocket is great for the quick tools, like smaller wrenches, cutters etc. good stuff. I would definitely recommend buying this if you work in the trades or just want an extremely durable professional grade tool backpack. Once I got one everyone in my shop is switching to this or the CLC equivalent (brand preference). ... show more

The bag is pretty well put together holds all the tools I need for my job and the light comes in handy when you’re in poorly lit areas… my one complaint would be the bottom isn’t fully rubber which would be nice, there are 4 footing pieces that does hold it up a inch or so but besides that the bag is great ... show more

    • Honestly didn't think I would like it, but glad I was wrong.
I have never liked big heavy tool bags for many reasons but the way this bag is organized works very well and I can keep a large set of tools with me no matter when I go. I have yet to use the built in light but the extra space on the bottom is great for holding larger power tools or tool cases. The weight is an issue if you over load it but the backpack makes it manageable, but will create back issues over time. ... show more
