They Worked Great for me - You Can't Beat the Price!

The driver's side bearing on my Chevy HHR was getting loud - so I ordered a pair of these for less than the price of ONE at the local parts stores. The seller claims a 10 year warranty to boot! After install, the ABS light turned off quickly and the bearing noise was gone. I followed that up with a visit to the tire store for an unrelated alignment that was needed and they gave the car a clean bill of health for steering and suspension parts. The new bearings combined with the alignment made the car drive like new! Install tip: If you live in salt country like me, the hubs will likely be frozen into the steering knuckles. Mine were totally seized in there. I YT'ed a trick that worked great - take the top bolt of the three holding the hub all the way out. Then back the two lower ones out so that 1/2 or so of the bolt shaft is showing. Then use a combination of lengths of 1/2" socket extensions together to go between the bolt head and the frame. Have a helper start the car and turn the wheel so that the power steering acts as a hydraulic ram to push the hub out. I had my helper just put pressure on the bolt this way and then I "persuaded" the hub loose at the same time by hitting the back of the hub flange with a 24oz ball peen hammer. The ABS wheel sensor part of the old hub was corroded and remained stuck to the steering knuckle - but this was easy to knock out with a steel chisel, hammer, and pliers. I then had to clean up the corrosion on the aluminum steering knuckle with a small wire wheel and drill before the new hub would fit. Other than that - it was an easy install and in total, took me about 3 hours for both sides (I enjoy this kind of stuff, so I take my time). ... show more

Hubs are nice for the price, but did not fit our 2019 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid. Check your production date and place of origin- U.S built or Japanese built, ours had a larger spline center hole.

Avoid this seller - deplorable customer service

Detroit Axle has deplorable customer service - if you do experience an issue with a product, be prepared for countless messages with different representatives resulting in the demand that you pay shipping and restocking fees that exceed the product's original value. Avoid this seller, but if you find yourself trying to resolve an issue with them - my advice - cut your losses and find another source. It gives me no pleasure writing this review - over a period of two weeks, I was forced to deal with +10 individuals in an attempt to resolve an issue. I say 'forced' as each engagement led to a new request for information or a contradiction to previous messages. For background, I've worked on cars for +40 yrs so I get that there will be issues with the process. What's unacceptable and uniquely frustrating is how Detroit Axle weaponizes their incompetence and refuses to resolve an issue that originated with their mistakes. ... show more
