I really like the look of this product, but the plastic spigot (in my opinion) cheapens it dramatically. I drilled it out and added a real tap and now think it looks amazing. Some day I will activate the tap for beer or wine from a Kegerator so I don't consider the money for the real tap wasted. I ordered this wine barrel knowing after reading reviews that l would not be happy with color but desperately wanted it to hang above authentic wine cask that rests in custom made cradel. So when it arrived l was prepared. I used foam brushes to apply minwa x walnut colored gel. I rubbed the gel on face of barrel so the lettering was not obscured.
