I love these democracy leggings. I have them in black regular blue or darker blue and gray. I wanna get them in a lighter blue, but I'm waiting for them to come up with more size options. The length is good, especially for someone like me who has very long legs I feel like they're very durable and when you wash them, they don't have that like brick feeling where you have to like really bend them in the fabric quality is awesome on them. These jeans just might be my new Roman Empire. Where have these been all my life? Lol. Once I figured out my sizing with these, I can definitively say that they fit exactly as described - no waist gap, tummy compression, butt-lifting, great stretch that doesn’t loosen up as you wear them. Great material. They are comfy yet form fitting. My journey to figure out my size in the democracy brand was … interesting. Thank goodness for Amazon’s try before you buy. I am 133lbs, 5’3”. Depending on the brand, I deviate between a 4-8 (27-29) and usually I start by trying a 6 and 8 which I did here. The 8 was huge and the 6 was as well. Also the legs were long. I had very obvious bunching at my ankles and I really wanted a more put together look. Sent those sizes back and reordered in size 4. It was then I noticed that Democracy had short lengths. Snatched up a size 4 and 4S. The 4S is perfect. I immediately ordered the only other color available in 4S and even kept the size 4R because I loved the color. So in less than a month, I ended up owning 3 pairs of these jeggings and I will buy them again if Amazon ever carries them in a 4S!! Take advantage of “Try before you buy” and get these, they are worth the price and when on sale, a total steal! ... show more

This is the second pair of Democracy jeans I've purchased. True to size. The quality is great and they hold up REALLY well. (Although they are stretchy, they do not start to 'sag' mid-day!) They also hold color very well. My only gripe is that with both pairs, within one or two wearing, the cap on the button comes off. Not only a fashion consideration but without that cap, the button is likely to slip thru the slot so you are dealing with surprise unbuttoned jeans throughout the day. I am 188# and 5'5". I am long waisted and short legs. I have a belly and I have skinny legs. These are perfect jeans. Actually jeggings but they are not tight on my legs. They fit just right - slim but not tight like leggings. I have two pair and both are indigo which is a nice dark blue. I like the color but that is currently the only color Amazon is stocking. I wanted black - no black as far back as early Nov. and it is now Valentines Day!!! What gives - soon I will want a white pair for summer. Come on get some more colors. By the time you get them in, I will have lost more weight and 18's won't fit me anymore. Don't you want my money? Seriously these are made for me - comfortable with plenty of stretch and they don't bag out at the end of the day. MORE COLORS PLEASE. ... show more

Love these jeans! I’m 5’3” approximately 145 -155, purchased a size 6 Short. A little tight at waist but overall fit is prefect. Highly recommend these if you have difficulty finding jeans. The quality is excellent. Looking forward to my next Democracy jeans!

I just tried these on and I’m wondering what the raves are about in hiding the lower belly that is stretched from having kids. As I sit, muffin top is real. I’m 5’3 188 pounds so I ordered a 16 short. I received a size 16 but had to roll the pants up to fit my height so didn’t receive short. On the model the pants seem to hug the legs to show great legs but on me the knees are super baggy which is very disappointing. The thigh is baggy, the calf fit is good but these are not short and my knees look like they lost 100 pounds bc the fit is insulting. I utterly hate the process of returns and wish Amazon offered a doorstep return. These cost too much to be disappointed. To avoid the whole return process I’ll just chalk them up to yard pants and take this as this brand isn’t providing the look the model is wearing bc of her knee coverage. I’ve found better on Amazon with pants that are about $20. I’ll take my business there. Not as promised. Any pants I have are a size 16 and have never experienced such a muffin top nor - just picture this - you’re wearing tight leggings but the knee fit is 3xs your knee size. ... show more
