Very happy with this purchase - our daughter's obsessed with Frozen and this was a very reasonably priced item that she loves. It's sturdy enough for us to sit on with her to read a bedtime story. My only little gripe was that we had to put the stickers on ourselves, and being ridiculously particular about getting that right made it a bit of a challenge! I have to admit, that I was terrified to transition my 2 year old from the crib to a bed. In a lot of ways this toddler bed set me at ease. It sits only about 8 inches off the floor - so my daughter can get in and out of it. Once put together it's very sturdy. I believe it's rated to 50 pounds. The frame of this bed is aluminum with plastic headboard, foot boards and rails. There is a cross bar in the middle but the mattress is largely supported by a fabric. It's almost like a toddler-sized army cot that you put a crib mattress on. Speaking of the mattress - it's not included. It uses a standard-sized crib mattress (way smaller than a twin bed), so you'll need to transition the one from your crib or pick up a new one. The plastic rails are very tightly affixed to the frame. They go about 1/3 the length of the bed. Originally i thought they were primarily decoration, but they are definitely sturdy enough to protect a tossing and turning tot from tumbling out. My daughter often grabs them to get her balance when getting up. I tried to stop it, but my daughter is obsessed with frozen. She absolutely loves the movie and loves this bed. I think that Anna and Elsa helped to make the transition to a toddler bed so easy. Moms and dads, read that again. The transition to this bed was EASY! It took one nap to get used to the new set up. Now she loves it. It seems easier for her to self sooth, And if, for some reason, she decides to wake up early in the morning- before I wake up. She gets up and gets a book or a toy to play with instead of getting upset about being in the crib. There are a few reasons why I knocked this down a point: 1. I found it very difficult to put together. The fabric part gets stretched very tightly and I need the help of a gorilla- I mean my husband to finish putting it together. 2. The one I got had a scratch on it that had begun to rust. It's ward the back of one of the legs so I covered it in clear nail polish to stop any more oxygen from getting in. 3. The Anna and Elsa bits are stickers, and you have to apply them yourself. It's really hard to get them on perfectly straight and without bubbles. ... show more

Granddaughter loves her big girl bed. Crib mattress fits in good. Yeah the bottom is metal poles so when she gets older I will have to put a piece of plywood underneath Mattress ( that will probably cost more than the bed). Also decals look great but suck to put on. I can do car graphics and that is easier than doing these and they will fall of later. I have reinstalled the headboard one twice so far. Thankfully she is to young to care. But she's happy so I can deal with the negatives. ... show more
