I love these guys, they last forever. I had a pair before and I wore them until they literally ripped, and I still wore them for a bit after that. After a month or less, they break in so well that it's like putting on slippers. The sole doesn't come detached from the upper part easily either. Admittedly after a while the "leather" at the front seam tends to chip off revealing the dark grey material beneath, and after a year of wear little green plasticky bits can start appearing under your foot. This probably won't be a problem for the average buyer, but I wear them a lot because of dress codes. If you're looking for classiness or superb arch support, look elsewhere. If you want comfy dress shoes you can put on like slippers every day, these are a great pick. ... show more

The best GO TO shoe!!!

I have been wearing this shoe for going on 10 years and I believe Deer Staggs has changed the name of the model at least once in that time. I wear them virtually every work day in an active office/management position. I know that they are durable enough to wear for about a year. The outsoles never wear out. The synthetic upper maintains its ability to be cleaned and shined. For a $30.00 shoe, I get exactly what I expect and more. The insole support and padding will maintain its condition for about 4-6 months of daily wear before they collapse. But, even then, the shoes are comfortable and durable on the outside. There is ZERO breaking in...they literally are as comfortable on Day One as they are on the day that they are retired. This is not a high end shoe by any means and I do not expect them to last for years. They are intended to be comfortable, get the job done, and get the next pair. These shoes run smaller than the indicated size. I wear a 10.5 and ordered a 10.5 but could barely get them on. I had to go to an 11 and return the 10.5 size. The soles were also heavily creased on both pairs (see photo), which I could feel when wearing them. I removed them and ironed them, which helped a bit. Longtime customer, no longer wearable due to reduced product quality.

I had bought 3 pairs of these exact shoes in precious years and enjoyed them for their comfort and the ability to easily slide in and out of them. 2 of the pairs wore out from what I feel is an acceptable amount of use. Finding these shoes dependable, I re-repurchased the exact same pair (size 10) and wasn't able to slide into the heels of the shoes or fit my feet into them at all! I exchanged them for a size 10.5 and could not fit into those either, so I had to return them and ask for a refund. I still have one of the old pairs which is easy to slide in and out of, yet I purchase THE EXACT SAME PAIR and I am no longer able to fit in them at all! Something must have been changed to reduce the quality of the materials or production of these shoes as they no longer even fit at all! Extremely disappointing as I found these shoes used to provide a lot more comfort and wearability than most other pairs of shoes I owned. I thought I had finally found something dependable, but it turns out I can no longer buy these shoes and will never buy from this brand again to due the reduction in quality!
