When I first pulled the pieces from the box, I noticed they were grimy, had sticky brown spots, and boot prints all on them. I decided to wait to clean it off, because I would probably just get it dirty again assembling it. It was easy to put together, so I was able to clean it quickly, but when I did, I noticed not all of the brown spots came off. Almost every corner of each board is chipped. The metal, yellow accent pieces have dingy green streaks, which look like water damage. Then when I put the white stickers over the screws heads that are meant to cover them up, they don’t even stick. They just hover on the screw heads. I was going to take it back apart and return it, but it’s too much of a pain, and I’ve already destroyed the box. Instead, I’m going to try to paint over the discolored and chipped parts. This thing is junk, the images are misleading at best. First, I had to redrill all the holes that weren't deep enough. The screw heads come practically pre-stripped. The color is walnut, not at all like what was in the photos. The screw heads are clearly visible. They give you little stickers to cover them but they don't stick and aren't big enough. They just sit on top of the screwhead waiting to fall off. I ended up improvising with Gorilla tape hoping to salvage it but this thing is immediately going up for free on my neighborhood buy nothing group. Hoping I can find a furniture impaired person to take this hunk of junk off my hands. What a waste of time and money. ... show more

This bookshelf was not even close to the color advertised. In the picture it looks like a light birch, but it is actually a chestnut color. The metal squares are extremely cheap, poorly painted, and in some cases not even welded properly. You have to fiddle with them to find out what side is the least damaged. My wife and I love the bookshelf. The unique design, quality, and dimensions. The bookcase takes up very little space and makes the room pop more. My son has a collection of Funko Pop and the shelf does a great job of showcasing the collection. He loves the bookshelf. It has enough for room for a huge collection and many other items. The bookcase was a little heavy to assemble and took awhile to put together, although; it was well worth the time and money. This is not high-quality but for the price you should not expect a quality it’s made of pressboard all of the parts were there was easy to assemble to an extent can’t always use a drill to put the screws in can I give it three stars but definitely measure your space it is exact measurements Specified on packaging thankfully mine fit when I turned it backwards must take into consideration your trim board. ... show more

Unstable and cheap. This is a death trap. If you have small children, definitely anchor to a wall because it’s incredibly unstable. Holes for screws were also punched inaccurately. I managed to assemble it and because of the trouble it would be to disassemble and it weight, having a child old enough to not climb on, I’m gonna keep it. Product is cute but the part where the screws attach to the wood has broken/splintered and it’s only been a few weeks. I am not rough on my furniture and have no children so I’m not sure how this could’ve happened. Cheaply made, can’t fix, & wouldn’t recommend.

It certainly holds books, though I recommend an anchor if you have kids, because it is pretty wobbly. I thought I was buying a 6ft shelf and should have checked the dimensions. It’s about half the bookshelf I thought I was getting for the money.
