For my old pontoon boat, I really debated whether or not to spend the money for this console. I have the tools and ability to build a nice console for less money. However, my time is worth something, and so I went for it. I'm really pleased with the result. It dressed the old boat up nicely, and is really working out well for me. The plastic is thicker than I expected, making it nice and solid. It is still fairly light weight, though, which is important on a pontoon boat. That's not to say that everything is perfect. There are a couple of "huh" things. First, the mounting spot for the helm mechanism is cast a bit crooked, so that the steering wheel is at a little bit of an odd angle to one side. It doesn't interfere with anything, but why not cast it right? Second, the footprint of it is pretty small front-to-back, so as a replacement console, it may or may not cover all the holes in your floor or floor covering. And, third, the cup holders don't have any drains, so they do tend to fill up with water and get gunky. These are minor quibbles, but better to be aware before purchase than after. As you can see from the pics the colors clash and is closer to olive green than ivory. They agreed to return, but I would need to drop off to UPS 30 to 40 mins away from my house, They wouldn't set up a pickup at my residence. Why should I pay my time and money to return a defective product. Not pleased with the outcome of this order. ... show more

    • No drilled screw holes in console.

The picture of the item clearly shows 6 screw holes in the console for the back cover. Ours has none. Also no screw holes on the outside of the cover, but the picture shows 4. The only screw holes are on the inside of the cover with no way to attach to the console. No directions included with the screws. ... show more

I received and installed it today. The material is thicker in the mounting area and the steering wheel mount place. It took 2 1/2 hours to remove the old and replace with this one. My son thought I should paint it. I say we were on the water at 9 AM.
