I've put together many Sauder-type items but this daybed was beyond my skillset. Hubby struggled to get some of the screws fully set and resorted to pre-drilling holes in some cases. There are no screw caps so the bed is covered with glaring gold screw heads. The wood is not always smooth, nor was the finish applied well. You can see drips in many places. I've had the bed for just a week and you can see how dinged up the drawers are already. The drawers are not connected to the bed at all. There are simply stops to prevent them from sliding under the bed. The legs are not particularly sturdy so we didn't slide it across the floor but picked it up to position it. But for all that, it doesn't creak at all and feels surprisingly sturdy. I'm not sure I would buy again, but for the price I'm reasonably satisfied. Espresso is a very dark almost-black reddish brown. It doesn't look out of place against my true black furniture and I'm really picky about color. ... show more

This was a lot nicer quality than we are expecting for the price and much less than everywhere else. It's a good size and great for a day bed/guest bed.

It looks beautiful but there were so many screws and other essential pieces missing. I ended up having to go to hardware store more than once to get additional screws. The installation instructions has a lot to be desired. Written poorly.
