Clean the surface of your bumper, peel the pre-applied 3M Tape, and stick the RBP on. Every vehicle is different, and some applications may require the RBP to be bent to match the exact curvature of your vehicle. Our installation staff has factory fitted this Rear Bumper Protector for proper fitment onto specific vehicles, ensuring it will perfectly fit the shape of your bumper. Read more Generic Installation Instructions STEP 1: Clean Bumper Clean the surface of your bumper with a clean cloth. Then, using the alcohol wipe provided, wipe down the bumper until clean. Let any excess residue dry prior to installation. PLEASE NOTE: Your vehicle should be at least 75°F for proper installation. STEP 2: Line Up Arrow With Trunk Latch To place your bumper protector properly, start by lining up the arrow on the bumper cover with the trunk latch located within the trunk of your vehicle. PLEASE NOTE: Do not remove tape yet. STEP 3: Dry Fit After centering the bumper protector, carefully bend the sides along the curvature of your vehicle's bumper. This step is to ensure that you are happy with the placement before fully installing the bumper protector. STEP 4: Remove 3M Tape Remove all tape lining from the underside of the bumper protector. I was a little apprehensive about buying this for my 2015 Ford Explorer due to the reviews saying it was too thick and the lift gate made contact. I listened to some of the others that said, just buy it. I'm glad I did. I wanted something with a lip, to cover the top edge of the bumper. This has it. I read the instructions, which were pretty detailed and made it sound like it would take some measuring. I looked at the top of the protector and it has an arrow dead set in the middle inner edge. I dry fitted it lining up the arrow to the lift gate striker and it was dead center. Peeled the backing off the adhesive strips and bam!, done. Now for the part I was concerned about, lowered the lift gate and double bam!, cleared. opened the lift gate and again it cleared with no issue. With the supplied 3M foam tape, it's not coming off anytime soon. I initially wasn't wild about the design on the top of this thing, but now that it's installed, it looks pretty good, good enough that it should have come from the factory with it. Can't believe it was cheaper than the OEM option, and covers the bumper edge to boot! If your on the fence, buy it!!! ... show more

    • Good, but Does Not Fit VW Atlas

This was one of several new additions we added to our Atlas when we got it. With kids and life, we wanted something to protect our back bumper from getting every day scratches. This product does a great job at that. I am giving it three stars because this product is clearly a one size fits all*. The protector is flat across the length of the bumper, but then goes down at a 90 degree angle at the end. The problem is that the Atlas's bumper does not go down at a 90 degree angle. It is shallower. This causes the bumper protector to NOT sit flush with the bumper like it was designed. In addition, because it does not fit flush, all of the 3M tap used to hold down the bumper did not get a good hold. I'm afraid at some point going down the highway or through the car wash, my bumper protector will fly off. I check it on a regular basis to make sure it is still on there good and not coming off on the sides and so far so good. I am not too sure if that will continue through the winter and the weather gets very cold. If I either lose the bumper protector or take it off myself, I will find a different one. This could be a great product if it fit the vehicle correctly, but I can only give it three stars since it does not. ... show more

This product does not fit a 2017 Mazda CX-5 as advertised. I installed this perfectly per instructions and it simply blocks the lift gate from opening. It gets stuck and the hydraulics could be damaged. I even tried to cut a little section back with an exacto knife thinking that I was just a millimeter off on installation or something and I would have had to cut a 1/4 inch off the entire length to get it to work and it would have looked like garbage. I'm returning and they are lucky I am not suing them for the repairs I might need for the hydraulics of the liftgate. Do not buy if you think this will fit a 2017 Mazda CX-5!!! ... show more

5 Star because of how seemless the fit and finish of this bumper pad is. The fact that the lip overlaps the bumper gives this its 5th star. Decent thickness but definitely eliminates anxiety of scuffing or scratching up the painted finish of the bumper. Been putting on aftermarket parts on my vehicles for years and when reading the horrors most have had with adhesion, already had my remedy in place. Used 30lb Gorilla double back tape to fill in the gaps of the 3M tape already attached to the pad. Also prepped the surface with denatured alcohol which leaves less residue than ispropyl. Used a crayon to matchmark the center and the door latch...BINGO, probably the best investment given to the wifey's Edge. Check the pics to see the final install ... show more

I was very happy when I got this for my 2021.5 Volkswagen atlas. Fits very well. Didn’t take a lot of fuss to put on. I really took the time and cleaned the bumper to make sure it was really good so that way it adhered to the bumper. I live in a very hot part of the United States where I can get up to 115° in the summer and I wanted to make sure that it had a good clean surface to adhere to. I would also recommend adding some additional tape along the bottom edge that way it gives a little bit more Adhesion so that way it doesn’t lift up. But other than that it’s a very well-made very clean factory looking bumper protector. ... show more

Original review March 26th 2020 - originally rated 4 stars Fits my 2019 Mazda CX-5 Touring (no power liftgate), it does not interfere with the manual liftgate. No issues with installation or adhesion of the 3M tape, and it blends well with my car's black paint. Nicely covers up a dent on the bumper thanks to the lip on the edge! The BIG downside is that this protector is NOT made of rubber or another known durable outdoor material; it is made of a soft injection molded foam material. Actually it feels like the exact same type of foam that my car's third-party cargo mat is made from. That cargo mat has had zero issues after about a year, and I carry my dogs in the cargo area all the time... However, I'm not sure how durable this material will be for an outdoor application, or if it is necessarily designed to withstand constant exposure to the elements. Update on Sept 7th 2020 After 6 months, there are zero issues with this protector. It survived a very rainy trip across the country and a few road trips since it was installed. I park in a semi-enclosed garage that is not temperature controlled and it has no issues. It has had no issues with extreme heat or cold as well. I'm very impressed and am raising my rating to 5 stars - hope it will last for years to come! ... show more
