Founded in 1990 by Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup, Dansko’s mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives through our products, our passion, and our commitment to a better tomorrow. Former horse trainers, Mandy and Peter were traveling in Europe when they found the perfect “barn shoe” – the traditional clog. They returned with suitcases filled with clogs for family and friends, and soon started selling them from the back of their station wagon. Word of the clogs’ comfort traveled quickly, and Dansko (meaning “Danish shoe”) was born.

You cant see the iridescent colors in the pic well but its very pretty in person. Ive been wearing these for 3 months and the iridescent colors are still there. I had another pair of danskos with an oil slick iridescent on it and it wiped off immediately. These do get scuffed but so far it isnt too bad. I get a lot of compliments on these shoes. My other Dansko shoes, while they did not fall apart after 20+ years (of standing, canning, cooking, cleaning, painting, gardening, kitchen tasks, about town), were getting thread bare, scrunched, severely stained and stretched with the heel slightly worn out. They are/were the second oldest shoes I own, but without a doubt the most worn over two decades (yes, that!). I treated myself to some new ones that might have more support, new heels etc. My old ones were discounted at REI and were a size 38, which at the time was a wee big. No matter. I wore them bare and even better, socks in winter. I loved them even though they were a dour grey with some cute stitching to liven them up. These are a 37, fit perfectly almost identical to my old ones and are BEA-U-TI-FUL. I slipped them on immediately after UPS delivered and oh my gosh: heaven! They are so pretty. I realize clogs don't have a lot of s*x appeal, but these are as pretty as they can be. I don't think they are leather (which my other ones were and which I greatly prefer for breathability and conforming to one's foot, but these will stand up pretty well for several years I believe. Great clog for on the go nurse. I am giving it 4 stars only because it was a little tight over the arch initially but after 2 weeks is fitting better. I have received several compliments. Fits comfortably with compression socks. Great clog and great arch support.

I love them. I wear them everyday at work. I have plantar fasciitis and they help alleviate the pain in my heels. I wear them with cotton footsies and they don't rub against the heel. Be sure to follow the sizing guide.

    • Not as good as I thought

I bought these from recommendations from other people in my profession. They are touted as good for those who stand on their feet every day, but that was not my experience. The heel on these is uncomfortably high with low sides around the heel. This creates a wobbly ankle and I nearly twisted mine multiple times. The arch is nice and high, which is great, but not really in the correct place. The higher than necessary heel put pressure on the balls of my toes, so much so that they immediately started to hurt the next day when I put them back on. These shoes are also quite heavy. Great if you want to work out while you work. They were comfortable under my heel all day, were true to size and had a nice roomy toe box, which are things I've had trouble finding in other clogs type shoes. The top is shiny and easy to wipe clean and the design was even prettier than pictured. I'm sure others love them, and honestly if the heel weren't so high I could probably over look any other issue. They just seem built more for fashion than actual function ... show more
