Founded in 1990 by Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup, Dansko’s mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives through our products, our passion, and our commitment to a better tomorrow. Former horse trainers, Mandy and Peter were traveling in Europe when they found the perfect “barn shoe” – the traditional clog. They returned with suitcases filled with clogs for family and friends, and soon started selling them from the back of their station wagon. Word of the clogs’ comfort traveled quickly, and Dansko (meaning “Danish shoe”) was born.

My other Dansko shoes, while they did not fall apart after 20+ years (of standing, canning, cooking, cleaning, painting, gardening, kitchen tasks, about town), were getting thread bare, scrunched, severely stained and stretched with the heel slightly worn out. They are/were the second oldest shoes I own, but without a doubt the most worn over two decades (yes, that!). I treated myself to some new ones that might have more support, new heels etc. My old ones were discounted at REI and were a size 38, which at the time was a wee big. No matter. I wore them bare and even better, socks in winter. I loved them even though they were a dour grey with some cute stitching to liven them up. These are a 37, fit perfectly almost identical to my old ones and are BEA-U-TI-FUL. I slipped them on immediately after UPS delivered and oh my gosh: heaven! They are so pretty. I realize clogs don't have a lot of s*x appeal, but these are as pretty as they can be. I don't think they are leather (which my other ones were and which I greatly prefer for breathability and conforming to one's foot, but these will stand up pretty well for several years I believe. They are comfortable out of the box! Perfect size (if you are a true-true middle of the road size 7, these will fit). And oh so cute!

They’re beautiful. The red overlay isn’t as obvious as in the picture, which actually makes them even prettier. Typical Dansko XP 2.0: light, comfortable, great arch support, sturdy and very attractive.

This is my new favorite shoe for walking the dog in rainy weather or not rainy weather. We do not walk miles and miles each time we walk, but rather around the neighborhood and I do have to be careful of little pinecones. We live in the PNW and I can just slip these on when she tells me it’s time to go outside again. Plus, I can wear them to work as well as to grocery shop and they match different outfits without me having to worry about the weather, or if I will be comfortable on my feet all day, which as a woman in her 60s with feet issues is becoming more important.

These were the most comfortable shoes and they look great with jeans on. I have a great toe with arthritis so I have to be very careful what I wear on my feet. I usually live wearing sneakers every day. I can honestly say that these shoes give me comfort and style Pure leather high-quality. It’s worth the price.

I’m an ultrasound tech and an ultrasound instructor so I am on my feet all day long when I’m teaching and when I’m in a hospital so I need a comfortable shoe that also looked professional in dress pants. I decided to order these due to the good reviews and that they weren’t sneakers so they’d look good with dress pants. I ordered the caramel color but I feel like the actual shoe is much darker than the picture advertised. I was hoping for that light brown / tan color and I feel these are a normal brown. They feel comfortable so far and I appreciate the arch support I’m just disappointed with the color. Per the box they sent me the correct thing so it is what it is. The shoe is pretty tight on the tops of my feet but I’m hoping once I break them in more they’ll loosen up a bit. I ordered the 6.5-7, I’m normally a 7-7.5 but per the reviews I ordered down a little instead of up.

I feel it's finally time to write a review. I bought these bad boys in 2021 and still wear them 5 days a week, 10 hours a day. They have normal wear and tear but are holding on strong! Working in healthcare, standing on my feet all day in surgery, my dogs are barking by the end of the day, in general. But these clogs have saved my feet from plantar fasciitis and my lower back from further problems. When I first started in healthcare, I used to wear Sketchers. I've been wearing Danskos for the last 9 years (in healthcare for 10) and these are my 2nd pair of danskos. You get what you pay for. My feet couldn't be happier--same with my wallet. If you're on the fence about purchasing these, let me be the little voice on your shoulder telling you to do it. I have TWO cons with these. 1. Not breathable, in the least. If your feet get sweaty fast, these will make them more sweaty. But they're waterproof and you can wipe any spillage off without worrying about damaging the shoe. 2. They are a "rocking" shoe. If you're a clutz, like me, you might trip over your shoe. I am pigeon-toed and these shoes aren't made to move sideways. I have learned to walk in these shoes, but I sometimes still end up tripping. So, use caution if you walk funny. These clogs are absolute troopers and I couldn't see myself wearing anything other than these for work. I hope this review helps!

I bought these from recommendations from other people in my profession. They are touted as good for those who stand on their feet every day, but that was not my experience. The heel on these is uncomfortably high with low sides around the heel. This creates a wobbly ankle and I nearly twisted mine multiple times. The arch is nice and high, which is great, but not really in the correct place. The higher than necessary heel put pressure on the balls of my toes, so much so that they immediately started to hurt the next day when I put them back on. These shoes are also quite heavy. Great if you want to work out while you work. They were comfortable under my heel all day, were true to size and had a nice roomy toe box, which are things I've had trouble finding in other clogs type shoes. The top is shiny and easy to wipe clean and the design was even prettier than pictured. I'm sure others love them, and honestly if the heel weren't so high I could probably over look any other issue. They just seem built more for fashion than actual function
