Description

Founded in 1990 by Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup, Dansko’s mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives through our products, our passion, and our commitment to a better tomorrow. Former horse trainers, Mandy and Peter were traveling in Europe when they found the perfect “barn shoe” – the traditional clog. They returned with suitcases filled with clogs for family and friends, and soon started selling them from the back of their station wagon. Word of the clogs’ comfort traveled quickly, and Dansko (meaning “Danish shoe”) was born.

Super disappointed. It appears that the manufacturer or quality control has gone down hill. I am a professional chef and have been one for my entire career (over 18 years in the industry) working on my feet for 10-15 hours daily. I have always been a Dansko customer and swear by their product. I have had pairs that have lasted up to 5 years! This last pair already Jade a broken sole and lasted less than 1 year (not considering the 3 months off during COVID). I love Dansko Professionals 2.0 so much better than the original Dansko clogs. The cushiony insoles & arch support with the softer rubber soles make 12-hour shifts much more comfortable. Even if I need to be on my feet for hours at a time, with these softer insoles, my feet don’t hurt. The ribbon design matches my scrubs well & was even on sale when I purchased them. I LOVED my old Dansko clogs. They fit like snug gloves. So, fast forward to 10 years later to these and so awful! I tried size 9.5 and 9 and in medium and wide--none of these differences changed the fact that the top portion of the clog over your upper foot is like an agonizing vise on your foot! Within a few minutes the pressure of this band across the top of your foot is so bad I have to take the shoes off, leaving an indented red welt. I made the mistake of wearing them the first time all day to work and was in agony. I've stuffed them with socks, put shoe stretchers in them--nothing works. Basically kept my shoes off all day under my desk and limped around when I had to put them on. To make it worse, no matter what size I have, my heel slips out of the bag with each step. TERRIBLE DESIGN! Will never buy Dansko again sadly. I've moved on to Merrill clogs which are snug, comfy HEAVEN! ... show more
