Like the color, material and fit. First pair and like the arch support. Sizing is confusing as some people like these to fit very loose while others like them to fit tighter on the heel. Was told there should be a fingers width from foot to back of clog. Easy on and off. Like look with jeans.

Ok I'm a NYC Chef,I spent countless hours on my feet. I have had just about every type of shoe in Mt 20+ year career and this one is a work horse. It's a bit narrow,and to break them in May be one of the worst experiences of your life unless you when through boot camp with the all leather speed lace style boots they issued back in the 90's. But once you break them in and it does take about three weeks, you have a work shoe that is not only comfortable but stands up to constant kitchen abuse,I will probably never use another shoe and in all honesty after 6 months they feel better than my Jordans, I mean honestly they are more comfortable than my running shoes. If you can get past the break in you won't be mad about the extra money you spend because they will last twice as long as any berk,mozo,crock etc. ... show more

    • Don't Fit Like My Older Professional Pros! :-(

I've just received my new Dansko pros today, and like several other reviewers, am incredibly disappointed. I have three other pairs of this exact same clog, all size 37, and the new pair is slightly smaller (you can see the difference when place them beside my other pairs), and really tight across my instep. They're actually painful and making the top of my foot numb. The rest of the clog fits fine, so I don't think it would be prudent to order a larger size. Super disappointed, as these are my go-to shoes for my shifts as a docent. Dansko, bring back the sizing of my older professional pros! ... show more

These shoes are great, but give them time to get used to your feet. When I bought these I had never owned a decent pair of real leather shoes. I didn't know how they would feel prior to my purchase. But, I'd heard time and time again that Dansko makes the most comfortable clog for long days on your feet, so I gave them a shot. I run a hotel restaurant and have been an avid wearer of a certain rubber clog, but didn't get the proper support I needed and my ankles were killing me. So bad that I thought I was in need of medical attention. Since wearing these though my pains have almost disappeared. I'll be honest, my first few days were painful. I almost went through with returning them for a larger pair. After reading reviews about how others did the same, however, and ended up with a pair too big, and then researching leather shoes in general I decided to keep them and see what happened. Like I said, the first part of you and your clog's relationship will most likely be painful, but what I'm starting to learn is that your foot will work and soften the leather to exactly fit itself. Those of you who have ever bought a brand new leather baseball mitt will understand. It takes work and patience to achieve the perfect fit. Here are some tips that I've found to work. 1. Don't go a full day wearing these. It will not end well. Your feet will hate you. Consider taking a day's break in between to let the leather dry out and breath after your feet sweat. It will also let your feet rest. 2.Get some leather conditioner and use it on them right away. It will soften the leather and help break it in faster. Repeat this procedure every few months to keep them from cracking and to restore oils lost. 3.Trust your shoe size. If your toes aren't mashed and your heel has about a pencils width between the back of the shoe, then you should be fine. 4. I've found that the shoe collar along the top of your foot will need to stretch. It will probably hurt at first but once your foot sinks down towards the front of the shoe it will progressively feel better. Take some time and research the proper care of leather shoes from reliable sources. With time and patience, and some pain, these shoes will become a best friend for your feet. ... show more

I'm a Podiatry Resident and my typical work day involves standing up for a good 6+ hours in the OR in the morning followed by just as much if not more hours of walking and rounding on patients in the hospital and seeing them in clinic. So with that said it was no surprise that at the end of the day my feet would be killing me from standing up on them all day without giving them a rest. A lot of my co-residents and lots of Attending at the hospital swear by Dansko Shoes and claim that they can't work without them. So I decided to give them a try. Two days after my order these shoes came in. I'm usually a 10.5-11 in shoes so I ordered a size 44 (10.5-11). When I tried the shoes on they were grossly over sized, I'd say a whole size to a size and a half so that when i tried walking with them my foot would move back and forth in the shoe and I could feel all my toes contracting when I tried to take the stairs so that the shoes wouldn't fall off my foot. Needless to say my foot was tired and hurting about 10 minutes into walking with the shoe. With the size difference out of the way I would still rate the shoes as great because I noticed they have a great arch support, an ample toe box (The are surrounding your toes) and a well made design. I contacted amazon the same day I got these shoes and they sent out a size 43 pair of shoes (9.5-10) that should be delivered to me sometime in the next 2 days as well as pick up my over sized shoes for FREE. Even though I didn't receive my new sized shoes yet I am really impressed by Amazon's service and also by the design of Dansko shoes. It is built with the biomechanics of the foot in mind which is great to see a shoe company do. So the take home message here is either try these shoes on in the store or order them a size SMALLER than your typical sneakers. I will be posting a new review of my smaller sized shoes when they arrive. ... show more
