So many nurses I work with wear Dansko clogs. I decided to purchase a pair and see what they’re all about. At first they were a huge adjustment. But now three months in I can work a 10 or 12 hour shift without my feet throbbing by the end of the day. I also don’t wear compression socks. So that’s a win. I attempted just a straight up regular dansko and they were not comfortable. I traded them in for the backless kind thinking that would take the pressure off the tops of my feet from the first pair. Turns out it didn’t help and my scrubs were getting caught in the bottoms of my feet. I returned the second pair and almost gave up. Then I ordered one more pair the same sized I ordered in the first pair. But in WIDE. What a game changer. Three weeks of walking in them and they were getting broken in fairly well. I also had a backup pair of shoes in my office just in case. Wide did the trick, there great shoes and the nurses I work with have had the same pair for like 8+YEARS! So I had to figure out how to stop spending 150$ every 6-10 months. Love them now. Good luck! ... show more

Like the color, material and fit. First pair and like the arch support. Sizing is confusing as some people like these to fit very loose while others like them to fit tighter on the heel. Was told there should be a fingers width from foot to back of clog. Easy on and off. Like look with jeans.

I've been trying to find a proper work shoe for years now. Finally gave into Dansko. I absolutely love the shoe. For someone with very flat feet that has to stand all day (literally 12-14 hours) I've never been able to find something that allowed my feet to not feel like death at the end of the day. Arch support is tricky for me since I do have such flat feet but I don't have any problem with these. The only problem I DID have was that the first pair I ordered were way, way, way too small. I could barely get my feet in them and my toes were smashed. I ordered a size up and they're still a little tight around the arch but much better. I think these shoes are just the type that need A LOT of break in time. I ordered a foot stretcher and actually tried stretching them (for my new pair) to break them in faster and it seemed to have helped a lot. It's kind of weird... Support is amazing for some odd reason but the arch is just TIGHT. Heel feels amazing and I never even got a blister, the arch is just super tight on my left foot. The leather is also rock hard so I figured it's just the way they're made/the leather. I definitely recommend the shoe because now that I've broken them in I find all the pain is gone (for the most part) and I can actually comfortably stand ALL day (with barely a break) between 2 jobs. No more having to sit down or collapse between shifts! It's amazing. I've been in restaurants for 7 years and I've never been able to find a shoe like this. The shoe AND the box it came in, is labeled the size that I ordered. But is huge. They are mismarked! I have several pairs in the same size and these are way too big!! I contacted the company and they would not due anything for me!!

I'm a Podiatry Resident and my typical work day involves standing up for a good 6+ hours in the OR in the morning followed by just as much if not more hours of walking and rounding on patients in the hospital and seeing them in clinic. So with that said it was no surprise that at the end of the day my feet would be killing me from standing up on them all day without giving them a rest. A lot of my co-residents and lots of Attending at the hospital swear by Dansko Shoes and claim that they can't work without them. So I decided to give them a try. Two days after my order these shoes came in. I'm usually a 10.5-11 in shoes so I ordered a size 44 (10.5-11). When I tried the shoes on they were grossly over sized, I'd say a whole size to a size and a half so that when i tried walking with them my foot would move back and forth in the shoe and I could feel all my toes contracting when I tried to take the stairs so that the shoes wouldn't fall off my foot. Needless to say my foot was tired and hurting about 10 minutes into walking with the shoe. With the size difference out of the way I would still rate the shoes as great because I noticed they have a great arch support, an ample toe box (The are surrounding your toes) and a well made design. I contacted amazon the same day I got these shoes and they sent out a size 43 pair of shoes (9.5-10) that should be delivered to me sometime in the next 2 days as well as pick up my over sized shoes for FREE. Even though I didn't receive my new sized shoes yet I am really impressed by Amazon's service and also by the design of Dansko shoes. It is built with the biomechanics of the foot in mind which is great to see a shoe company do. So the take home message here is either try these shoes on in the store or order them a size SMALLER than your typical sneakers. I will be posting a new review of my smaller sized shoes when they arrive. ... show more
