    • Great shoe for long-term standing and severe back pain issues
These are great shoes and I have been very pleased with them so far. I was forced to look at shoes of this type to help with extreme back pain from herniated disks and 3 pinched nerves. Standing on my feet all day is my only option to combat the pain so finding good shoes was critical. Note, these are NOT CUSHY AT ALL but the arch support is phenomenal. My heels still ache a bit by the end of the day but overall these are extremely comfortable for long term standing. They are meant to fit loosely and the heels should be loose as well. I normally wear a 7.5 standard width shoe but for these had to go up to a 39 as opposed to the recommended 38 in order to accommodate my high arches. This was my first pair of Danskos so I wasn't sure about sizing until I had them on. As a result I had to do a return and exchange to get the right size but I am so happy I did. I purchased a second pair of mary-jane style pumps shortly after I bought these and I love those just a much. ... show more

I donated an old pair of Danskos over the past year--they got me through medical school and residency, squeaking the entire way. Then this pandemic hit and I needed to return to wearing scrubs, which I hadn't for 5+ years. I wanted a pair of shoes that could easily be cleaned, slipped on, and left in the garage when I go home, and Danskos came to mind. I wear a size 8.5 and bought the 39s. You want to be able to fit a finger behind the heel to ensure a perfect fit. These hit the mark. Two months in and no squeaking. My back doesn't hurt, my feet don't hurt, the shoes look great after 2 months of daily use and sitting in my garage and being wiped down every day. I forgot that I actually liked my Danskos. I think I might have to buy more pairs/styles after this. Recommend for comfortable, durable, and practical shoes. ... show more

    • Dansko's saved my feet!
I am a p/t bartender and p/t food service worker. I have worked on my feet for 25 years. Now that I am in my 40's, my feet are shot! I have tried really good sneakers and nothing has helped. Other women at the cafeteria had these Dansko's so I thought I'd try them and they are FABULOUS. I work in them all day and when I get home and take them off, my feet feel fine. They have really helped my feet feel better when nothing else did. At first when I put them on, I thought they were too big but learned you should be able to put a finger between your heal and the back of the shoe. Although they have a back heel, when you walk they feel like a clog. They do give you some extra height which I don't need, but I'll take it since my feet feel so good. I wore these once and will never wear them again. I could hardly walk while working. My two little toes on each foot kept rubbing against the shoes. My right foot hurts so bad due to trying to reposition my feet as I stood most of my eight hour work shift. I wore them this past Monday it is now Thursday and my feet feel blistered. I don’t want ugly toes! They were highly recommended but they are not for everybody. They weren’t tight and I had a fingers worth of room left in the back. So disappointed. ... show more

    • Excellent work shoes
I have been a devoted Dansko fan for more than ten years. As a restaurant professional, they look sharp, but are comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time spend on my feet, on hard floor surfaces. They are not officially non-skid, but I have never had an issue slipping on wet floors. I also tend to wear these when dressing up casually as they look nice, yet offer comfort. They can be slightly uncomfortable across the top of your foot for a couple days while "breaking them in", but once you wear them for a few hours, they are the most comfortable dress shoes you'll wear. ... show more

    • Great for Teachers!
This is my first pair. Several of my colleagues have them. They are comfortable, great for back support and standing all day. The one negative is the top of shoe is a little stiff, but it does stretch out. The heal is supposed to be loose. Love them and the price on Amazon!

    • Great shoes with a twist
Love the look and style of these shoes. They are a bit small and will probably fit after a tough break in period, as the leather is of good quality. This is to be expected. I was surprised however at the lack of support the back of the shoe gives. If you are thinking you want these because there will be more support than a regular clog because of the enclosed back, you may be surprised. It gives the same support as an open heeled clog and it takes a little getting used to having that peice of leather there but feeling your foot slip out of it.
